The mandate of this role is to:
• Define and execute the CIB Data Architecture in line with the business objectives and data strategy of the business
• Drive the data architecture workstream across enterprise / CIB transformation programs to ensure these are aligned to the CIB Data Architecture. The workstream would cover:
• Defining what are the data domains in the context of that workstream and the corresponding ownership in alignment to the broader CIB and pan-bank data domain model
• Designing and building the data models to be implemented as part of the program in line with the principles adopted for the same at the CIB level
• Determining the data sourcing strategy and the specific data providers to source from
• Leading the engagement with the above mentioned data providers and ensure that business, cost and operational efficiency targets are achieved
• Advising the program around drafting / defining of business terms and data standards
• Acting as the primary liaison point between Business, Operations, Product Owners, Solution Architects, Technology and CFCR on all data architecture-related topics
• Steering the program to develop an effective data migration strategy from the current state to the target state
• Ensuring seamless integration and data lineage / flows between applications / systems
• Steer and enable the CIB business to solve data architecture issues in a strategic and innovative manner which promotes organisational and operational efficiencies
Key Responsibilities
Strategy
• Define and implement the CIB Data Architecture in alignment to business, operational efficiency and regulatory requirements factoring and in line with industry best practices
• Champion a forward-looking data culture to support effective and efficient usage of data through efficient and effective data architecture that enables analytics, business growth and compliance with applicable legal / client / regulatory requirements.
Business
• Partner, support and enable the respective teams to identify, perform root cause analysis, impact assess, and solve for data architecture problems end to end for CIB business. This may also entail collaborating or involving other relevant workstream leads within CIB CDO / CIB Data governance & management where there is a data risk nexus.
• Drive clarity around data architecture design principles, objectives, target state / requirements
• Work with relevant stakeholders e.g. CFCR, Solution Architects, Technology, Operations etc. to clear any blockers that stops business from meeting the intended objectives
• Work with centralised teams at Group CDO level, T&O level, CIB level and more to roll out new / enhance data architecture related capabilities to automate / digitise CIB data architecture landscape and optimise data processing
• Act as a trusted advisor on data architecture, products, models and solutions to senior business stakeholders to enable data-driven informed decision making
Processes
• Lead the design, execution and maintenance of processes for the following focus areas:
• CIB Data Architecture: This includes various components such as the data storage / warehouse model, data flow / transfer / sharing, access matrices, integration mechanism and more. These needs to be aligned to the overall Group data architecture while still catering for the CIB business specific nuances and requirements.
• CIB Data Domain model: This includes grouping and categorising information generated, owned and/or consumed by CIB into logical data domains e.g. Corporate client entity information, product specific information in line with the broader CIB organisational structure and Group / country data domain setup, agreeing on the ownership for each data domain in line with the organisational, operational and system landscape. This also includes having processes in place to upkeep the inventory of the CIB data domains at Group and Country level.
• CIB Data models: This includes setting up protocols and frameworks around what is a data model, the key principles / requirements to account for when designing the data model, setting up business terms and data standards where applicable.
• CIB Data products: This includes co-development, expansion, and maintenance of data products e.g. CCDM etc.
• Advisory on data architecture related requests: This includes providing guidance around data products, models and architecture. Where required, this may entail working with other teams such as the data risk management teams and more.
• Data Governance: Own the CIB data architecture, products, models and solutions related forums, participate in forums / working groups / committees / meetings with data architecture nexus, develop governance framework / mechanism to ensure robust management of any data architecture related risks/ issues / incidents end to end from logging in the relevant Operational risk system where required, performing root cause analysis, conducting impact assessment, developing solution options, agreeing the remediation solution & implementation plan, to driving the risk / issue to closure / completion. All relevant stakeholders across 1 LOD, 2 LOD and 3 LOD to be engaged as appropriate.
• Establish a process to upkeep the demand management backlog for requests for data architecture support from the CIB business. This includes data architecture-related topics, audits / initiatives and more.
• Transformation: Provide thought leadership and drive the continuous digitisation and automation across the data architecture landscape from design, build, implementation, maintenance to retirement.
• Represent the CIB business in enterprise / CIB-wide / transformation projects to ensure that CIB nuances and requirements are accounted for and satisfied and that these are aligned with the overall CIB Data architecture design / principles.
People & Talent
• Build, Lead and Develop a high-performing team of data architecture professionals

Risk Management
• Design and implement frameworks, controls and practices to support effective data architecture management across the CIB Businesses in line with the applicable regulatory / client / legal requirements
• Drive and support data architecture -related remediations to achieve timely, effective and efficient resolution of data architecture related issues
• Implement mechanism to manage Data architecture issues effectively and efficiently end-to end from identification, logging in issue register, root cause analysis, impact assessment, solution design to remediation.
Governance
• Establish a defined engagement model with all relevant stakeholders across business, technology, compliance and audit (where applicable) ensuring all relevant stakeholders are informed and/or involved as required / appropriate. This includes but is not limited to chairing and/or participating in relevant forums / PgSCs.
• Define path to escalate data architecture related risks & issues and obtain the required support to drive these to closure.

Our Ideal Candidate
- 10+ years of experience in Corporate & Investment Banking, preferably across jurisdictions / countries / markets
- Has prior experience working across two different CIB business or product domains (e.g., Markets, Coverage, Transaction Banking).
- Deep understanding of the end to end lifecycle of CIB business and CIB data architecture with direct exposure to key processes and/or applications relating to customer engagement, order placement / taking, transaction validation, transaction execution, post-processing, reporting and more.
- Been the Data Architect of various applications used for and/or by CIB business
- Proven track record in End to End data management and architecture related leadership roles. Worked across different aspects of data lifecycle from sourcing to transformation to consumption to storage to disposal.
- Extensive experience working on data architecture related remediation and transformation projects.
- Familiar with Data Quality activities relating to metadata management, profiling, business terms, lineage / handshake definition and more such that these can be incorporated into the data architecture / product / model design
- Experienced with preparing program reports / status updates to senior management
- Led global large-scale digitisation and/or transformation projects / initiatives
- Worked on projects / roles with differing ways of working ranging from Agile to SDLC & more.
