RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy
• Drive and implement business operating strategy with Country Credit Head/ Chief Credit Officer to bring the most effective and efficient operating model from resource optimisation and cost effectiveness.
• Lead the Policy & Governance function for the region (ASEAN ex. MY, VN, ID, BN) and provide support to markets.
• Implement the WRB Credit Risk Policy Framework and Credit Risk Management Policy formulation, implementation and administration. Carry out responsibilities with the support of the organisation at the Group, country and Business levels ensuring that the associated risks are dimensioned and being controlled.
• Help define the target risk appetite boundaries for WRB in collaboration with respective segment risk heads to shape up portfolio and characteristics that would maximize return on capital within acceptable risk tolerance/loss volatility.
• Contribute to the development of performance management and remuneration processes, in order to encourage the development of an appropriate risk culture and discipline.
• Responsible for Corporate Plan process for WRB Risk including the forward looking five years impairment projection by market and product and drive the critical business decisions to optimise the book and shape
• Overall management of Management Information Standards, data strategy, Portfolio Quality Review and data quality management framework for the WRB Credit risk.
• Overall management of Operational Risk profile for WRB Risk via maintaining the process universe, implementation of ORF (or similar framework) and other non-financial risk management.
• Collaborate with the rest of country functions, direct and support country business and credit teams to implement agreed strategies.
Business
• Manage the key business information requirement required to run an effective risk organisation
• Align strategy of the segment risk functions with risk appetite and tolerance and oversee its execution
• Maintain acceptable level of understanding and risk capabilities for Operational Risk Framework via respective country process owners.
• Engage country/ regional stakeholders towards furthering impairment /ECL and governance / ORF agenda and help them execute strategies that result in demonstrated improvement in overall governance and business risk management
• Oversee model delivery management as an independent governance function and support timely delivery and implementation of credit risk models.
• Manage standard model monitoring process and standard for all models supporting WRB Credit Risk management.
Processes
• Manage Credit Risk Management Policy framework to ensure that all standards and polices are aligned with the target governance frameworks and enable effective controls
• Manage process standards for Loan Impairment and Management Information to ensure the standards aligns with the agreed risk appetite, reflects the key risk characteristics of the portfolio, and enables effective controls.
• Manage the implementation and enforcement of the credit policies and risk control procedures for consistent applications across markets; ensure that processes are in place for the Risk Officers in Country and Region to monitor adherence.
• Participate in the key programs like BASEL IV. PCI DSS and Innovation / Transformation
• 2nd LOD role for Stress Testing to perform review and challenge on Basis of preparation, methodology review, model reviews and overall support to the process.
• Manage model monitoring and model delivery management processes at the country level to ensure activities undertaken are in line with risk management framework/policy with adequate governance controls.
People & Talent

• Define an organisation structure aligned and scaled to the risk control needs of the Function, balancing group & local requirements as necessary.
• Set and monitor job descriptions and objectives for direct reports and provide feedback and rewards in line with their performance against those responsibilities and objectives.
• Uphold and reinforce the independence of the team from those whose primary responsibility is to maximise short-term revenues and profits.
• Ensure the provision of ongoing training and development of the team's people and ensure that all team members are suitably skilled and qualified for their roles.
Risk Management
WRB Credit Policy & Standard Compliance:
• Responsible for ensuring a robust policy formulation, approval and implementation.
• Management of dispensation approval, repository tracking and reporting
• Responsible for the following RTF /policy/ standard application for Singapore and ASEAN countries.
• WRB Credit Risk Type Framework
• WRB Credit Risk Management Policy and Standards
• CRR Standards for Credit Risk Migration
BASEL Compliance - Standardised approach for Credit Risk
• Responsible for governance over Capital Requirement Regulation (CRR) under the Standardised approach for WRB Risk
• Support Country Credit Head/ Chief Credit Officer on assurance monitoring for PRA / MAS/ CRR compliance
• Responsible for maintenance of the CRR / PRA/ MAS registers and the attestation process for WRB Credit Risk.
• Tracking and reporting of CRR / PRA / MAS noncompliance issues
• Review of CRR / PRA / MAS technical standards on Standardised approach and participate in consultation process.
Performance Management and Portfolio Review
• Responsible for managing the loan impairment (LI) forecast for WRB Credit Risk.
• Coordinate the Corporate Plan process and forecast cycle for WRB Credit risk in line with emerging trends.
• Responsible for overall tracking of expenses and cost forecast for WRB Credit Risk.
• Responsible for Credit MIS framework and procedures. Support WRB Credit Risk strategic agenda to drive key strategies with Business, Risk and other stakeholders.
Model Monitoring & Delivery Management
• Accountable for regular model monitoring and standard reports providing the performance status of models. This covers IFRS9, IRB and scorecards.
• Oversee the overall monitoring process which are performed in country and region.
• Participate in relevant committees at country/ regional level related to model performance.
• Support model development lifecycle through model delivery and implementation journey. This includes tracking of on-going model development plans, validation or audit actions, model implementation, de-commission, and GAME inventory update for country WRB Credit Risk models and scorecards
• First party contact for audit and compliance for model related matters
Governance
• Ensure effective controls and assurance for policy formulation and approval.
• To exercise Process Ownership for Policy Formulation, Credit Bureau Reporting and Loan Impairment and Forecasting
• To ensure risks of processing failure are being actively controlled on end-to-end basis.
• Actively participate in committees and management meetings
• Embed the Group’s values and code of conduct, as it relates to the role remit, to ensure that adherence with the highest standards of ethics, and compliance with relevant policies, processes and regulations among employee form part of the culture.
• Engage with relevant audit report findings across the relevant functions and ensure feedback is acted upon.

• Overall accountability for monitoring compliance with the Prudential Compliance Framework Lines of regulation for which I am accountable. This includes ensuring that all relevant line requirements have documented effective controls and assurance methods within the PCF registers, these are embedded within their respective policies, standards and processes and escalating PCF breaches as per the PCF governance.

• 15+ years experience in a financial services space with strong credit management experience
• Certifications: GARP SCR, CCRC
