Head of SCV Marketing role sits at the intersection of SCV platform marketing strategy, portfolio companies, people leadership, and disciplined operational excellence to deliver integrated marketing communication strategies. The role is responsible for shaping and executing marketing strategies that deepen investor and client engagement, strengthen market position, and support portfolio companies in delivering growth. This role will lead Lead marketing, communications and growth initiatives for both the SC Venture platform and portfolio companies, shaping the overarching SC Ventures brand and narrative and leveraging it to drive ventures commercialization, as well as building credibility and  building preference across a global innovation ecosystem of potential investors, clients, customers and partners and . ensuring connectivity into the Standard Chartered marketing and communications structure.

This role will report directly into the Global Head of CIB Marketing and sit on the CIB Marketing Leadership Team, with a matrixed line into SC Ventures 

Key Responsibilities

Strategy
SC Ventures Platform Brand, Narrative & Communications
•    Evolve the overarching SCV brand positioning and narrative, to closely align with platform priorities and strategy.
•    Build thought leadership and market presence through content, media and other flagship events (including opportunistic leveraging of the Bank’s content and events pipeline) 
•    Strengthen visibility and credibility with target audience segments: investors, clients, customers, partners and bank stakeholders  
•    Lead the global PR and communications strategy, including media relations, executive positioning and crisis/issue management 
•    Develop clear POVs and compelling narratives across SCV’s high conviction themes and incorporate venture business models, success stories as proof points 
•    Ensure consistent, high-quality messaging across platform and portfolio, as well as integration with the bank’s communication strategy 
•    Amplify the platform’s role within broader financial services and innovation ecosystems 

Business
Ventures Portfolio Growth & Commercialization 
•    Partner with venture CEOs as a fractional CMO to define positioning, GTM strategy and growth plans 
•    Drive adoption of structured marketing playbooks across ventures to accelerate 0-->1 and 1-->scale journeys 
•    Support ventures through key milestones – launch, fundraising, market expansion etc 

Marketing Infrastructure and Governance 
•    Build and scale shared marketing capabilities (brand, digital, performance, content, CRM etc) 
•    Evolve governance policies, frameworks in partnership with Risk, Legal and Compliance to protect brand and reputation 
•    Run strategy development, planning, budgeting and performance tracking across all marketing activities 
•    Grow agency capabilities through building a roster of cost-efficient, nimble agencies that can be leveraged across both portfolio and platform 

Processes
Enterprise (Bank) Alignment and Integration 
•    Act as primary interface between ventures platform and CIB (bank)’s CABM teams 
•    Ensure alignment with corporate brand messaging frameworks and messaging guidelines 
•    Partner on strategic initiatives, announcements and tentpole events to amplify collective impact 

People & Talent
•    Lead and develop a high performing marketing and communications team 

Regulatory & Business Conduct
•    Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct. 
•    Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. Skills and Experience

•    Adaptive & Strategic Planning

Qualifications

•    15-20 years’ experience in marketing with proven track-record driving results in both brand and growth/performance marketing
•    Deep understanding of financial services, including banking and capital markets, but also in emerging areas, e.g., digital assets 
•    Strong foundation in driving customer acquisition, engagement and revenue impact – not just awareness 
•    Experience working within large, regulated, matrixed organizations with strong understanding of Risk, Legal and Compliance frameworks 
•    Background/experience in venture building, venture capital, innovation studios and the start-up ecosystem is advantageous, but not necessary
•    Data-led strategic thinker who can interpret and incorporate multiple viewpoints from stakeholders into a cohesive marketing strategy, linked to business goals, and drive to execution 
•    Executive presence with ability to operate at board, C-suite levels, as well as experience in navigating matrixed, multi-stakeholder environments and driving alignment 
•    Comfortable with reconciling venture agility with enterprise brand and reputational guardrails 
•    Scale marketing capabilities and performance across SCV global offices
