JOB SUMMARY

Financing & Securities Services (FSS) business has a unique footprint in Asia, Middle East, and Africa, and offers a growing range of products, including direct custody, international custody, funds services, trustee services, transfer agency, prime services, and agency securities lending, to a number of client sectors including banks, investors, intermediaries, sovereigns, fund managers insurance companies and corporates.

The jobholder is primarily responsible for driving product development and business growth for fund services through strategic planning, governance and compliance for both custody and fund services for Vietnam as well driving selected regional initiatives. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategy
Responsible for securities services strategy in Vietnam, including identification and market sizing of new business opportunities.
Drive short and long-term priorities as part of the product roadmap with focus of offshore and on-shore Financial Institution  segment
Identify new niche segments to achieve further revenue growth.
Regularly benchmark our product with competition and work towards plugging major gaps.
Propose new initiatives to regional management and central product teams for investment approval. 
Drive of regional initiatives related to Product Road map across ASEAN and wider region as allocated by Regional or Group Product 

Business
Maintain high level client interaction through understanding needs of clients and prospects. Implement structures and solutions to meet these needs ensuring delivery of FSS.
Provide product solutions, recommendation, knowledge & support for new product initiatives or complex deals. Includes structuring/ customization of client requirements as well as RFP responses where such response is relevant to the product.
Review risk and maintain competitive pricing policies on client base, new deals and tariff structure to maximise product profitability. 
Work jointly with sales and relationship managers to develop collaterals for local market and offshore clients, communicate product launches and assist in developing sales campaign strategy (where required). 
Regularly evaluate alternate products/ processes that will ensure that our product offering is in line with or better than the market. 
Commercialize new and existing product capabilities. 
Maintain and grow presence within the local market industry and provide active voice as market advocate for the bank and our clients (both local and off shore clients)


Processes
Work with all stakeholders to launch new/enhance product commercialisation.
Function as knowledge centre and provide training and ongoing support to securities services sales for new products and to the local product management team for existing and new product offerings. 
Oversight on approved projects and managed within the approved timeframe and budget. 
Ensure all processes across Financing and Securities Services are followed in line with approved policies and procedures.
Active engagement and participation on industry bodies and/or workgroup, providing feedback on drafts and circulars 

People & Talent 
Be a lead market advocate for FSS for the product line and seen as SME in the local market participating and representing the Bank in industry bodies and market forums.  Build strong relationships with key regulators governing product line.

Risk Management
Identify and mitigate the Operational, Credit, Regulatory and Business conduct risks relating to SS products within the region.
Keep abreast of regulatory or internal policy changes related to the products and the business and assess the implications and impact to the business of such changes.  
Ensure country compliance on Group standard for Audit, Control and financial reporting including reporting of risks. 
Work closely with operations to improve overall service standards, platform and solution customizations and to ensure that quality of service to customers remains superior to competition 
Guide, liaise with Group and lead countries on local product risk papering.


Governance 
Provide senior level support to operations ensuring internal audit standards are followed and reflected in process guides. 
Oversight on outsourcing vendors. Implement, tuning on governance framework with third party vendors.
Ensure adherence to all internal and external regulations to embed Compliance Risk monitoring as an integral part of the business process.

Regulatory & Business Conduct 
Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct. 
Manages and oversees proper control and authorisation of product inventories.
Takes personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

Country Securities Services Heads. 
Country and Regional/Group Heads of Products / Operations / Segments. 
Country and Regional Heads of Functions. 
Represent SCB and Securities Services with all stakeholders including Clients and industry bodies. 

Other Responsibilities
Embed Here for good and Group’s brand and values in P&F products team.
Perform other responsibilities assigned under Group, Country, Business or Functional policies and procedures.
Seek client feedback on our product capabilities, understand their existing and emerging requirements and maintain sales momentum. 
Be a part of the market advocacy process. 
Contributes to FSS delivery in the region. 

Our Ideal Candidate

Over 10 years’ experience in Vietnam securities services industry and/or operational experience in Securities Service and/or Fund Management including exposure to Transfer Agency, securities settlement and fund accounting
Familiar with relevant regulatory, accounting requirements and good knowledge on operations covering fund accounting and transfer agency services.
Accounting or Business/Commerce related degree or MBA preferred
Detail-oriented and strong analytical skills
Fluency in Vietnamese and English
