JOB SUMMARY

Conduct director is responsible for assisting Country Conduct Head to enhance conduct culture via the SCB Group Conduct Standard by deepening it into daily works in SCB China. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategy

Providing advice to country WRB management on designing a countrywide conduct risk management framework/ conduct action plan that is fit for purpose in the country context and championing the implementation of such action plan by all business units. Reference to be made with Group Code of Conduct, Group Conduct Management Policy and Conduct Management Framework, as well as applicable local regulations.

Business

Providing advice to all WRB biz including SME segments to ensure WRB biz corporate plans and targets are reviewed from a conduct lens ensuring WRB biz is done in the right way.

Processes

Ensure all WRB processes are reviewed from a good conduct perspective through Process Governance forums and Voice of Frontline feedback and through all other means where possible

People & Talent

Embed Good conduct culture across WRB staff through regular meetings with WRB Staff, townhalls & trainings.

Risk Management

Own the end to end conduct risk management for WRB VN

Governance

Head of WRB conduct management to be responsible for: 

•    Aligning across all units to ensure countrywide consistency in implementation (e.g. on conduct risk assessment/ plan formulation).
•    Facilitate the countrywide protocol on incident, risk issue and MI generation and escalation to appropriate to ensure proper governance and resolution of conduct related risk. Key responsibilities are to aggregate the conduct MI prepared by respective units and form a country view for country management review. 
•    Proactively socializing best practices across units on conduct risk management 
•    As needed, provide monitoring oversight such as ad hoc quality assurance/ thematic review on conduct related areas.
•    Identify countrywide thematic risk that may be best managed at country level and escalate for management attention.
•    Providing advisory support on related elements within the Conduct Framework (e.g. DM process)
•    Respond effectively and timely to internal and external events or targeted reviews based on conduct related that have countrywide implications; unit specific risk/ control execution are responsible by the respective units, and socialize potential risk/ lessons learned with other units. 
•    Deliver effective and efficient oversight and monitoring mechanisms for unit to report progress of conduct risk/issues to country management.

Regulatory & Business Conduct

•    Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct. 
•    Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
•    Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
•    Lead the WRB to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank’s Conduct Principles: [Fair Outcomes for Clients; Effective Financial Markets; Financial Crime Compliance; The Right Environment.]

Qualifications

•    Education     Min graduate, post graduate preferred
•    Languages     Fluency in English mandatory, Vietnamese speaking skills are added advantage
