Job Summary
• The Investigator is responsible for conducting investigations into allegations of misconduct, fraud, financial crime, regulatory breaches, data misuse and other matters that may expose the Bank to financial, legal, regulatory or reputational risk. The role supports the delivery of independent, objective and evidence-based investigations in accordance with Group Investigations standards and applicable laws and regulations.
• The Investigator is responsible for building core investigative skills and conducting investigations under supervision. Focuses on fact-finding, evidence gathering, interviews and supporting investigations in accordance with GI standards. Supports working-level client engagement.

Strategy
• Understands and applies GI methodology, standards and priorities. Contributes factual case insights to support continuous improvement.

• Maintains effective working-level stakeholder relationships to facilitate information gathering and investigation delivery. Provides case updates and management information.

• Conducts investigations under supervision using proportionate and targeted enquiries. Gathers evidence, supports interviews, prepares reports and manages assigned tasks.
People & Talent
• Develops own investigative capability through training, coaching and practical experience.
Risk Management
• Escalates material investigative, legal, regulatory and reputational risks. Supports tracking of remediation activities.
Governance
• Maintains accurate case records and follows investigation, evidence management and reporting standards.

• Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
• Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. Qualifications
• Minimum 6 years substantive background in enforcement actions, investigations or prosecutorial and regulatory agency environment, with local expertise within India primarily and other Asia markets.
• Certified Fraud Examiner accreditation or similar.
• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field, such as Legal, Business, Finance, or Accountancy.
• Sharp business acumen with experience of investigations in white collar corporate environment and/or experience advising or managing complex investigations and related risks representing financial institutions.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct best practice investigations (remote and physical) with a high level of integrity, independence, resilience, professionalism and discretion.
• Understanding of the key features of relevant laws and regulations relevant to Bank and the role of Investigations.
• Knowledge and sound judgement of business practices, regulatory relationship management and reputational risk.
