Job Summary
The Financial Analyst role at Standard Chartered offers a comprehensive opportunity to engage with diverse business lines and key internal stakeholders. This position provides broad exposure to end-to-end finance processes within a dynamic and highly regulated environment. You will play a crucial part in supporting the financial integrity and regulatory compliance of our organization, working closely with the intra-group finance community aligned with the legal entity strategy. The role encompasses a spectrum of responsibilities including regulatory reporting, tax preparation, vendor management, accounts payable operations, and ledger maintenance.

The Financial Analyst will collaborate across departments to ensure financial data accuracy and governance, reinforcing the company’s reputation for transparency and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensuring the precise and timely preparation and submission of all mandatory regulatory reports to authorities such as BRSA, CBOT, TBB, and TUIK in strict alignment with the latest regulations.
- Designing and implementing enhanced control procedures to safeguard the validity and integrity of financial data through rigorous daily checks.
- Acting as a primary liaison with internal auditors, facilitating a smooth and comprehensive audit process by providing all required information and documentation.
- Maintaining robust ledger controls to guarantee accuracy and consistency of financial transactions and balances.
- Preparing taxes, declarations, and e-legal books in compliance with local and international requirements.
- Managing the accounts payable workflow effectively, including coordinating vendor management activities alongside vendor owners to ensure accurate and timely invoice processing.
- Overseeing third-party invoice follow-ups via the e-invoice portal, processing necessary accounting entries, securing internal approvals, and expediting payments.
- Building and maintaining an effective audit trail, enabling transparent verification of accounting records forming the foundation of all financial reporting.
- Supporting the annual preparation of the Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAP) report as part of risk and capital management efforts.
- Delivering accurate and timely Management Information System (MIS) reports to various functional teams to inform decision-making.
- Providing cross-functional cover within the Finance team as business needs arise, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
- Performing any additional duties as assigned by the Head of Finance, contributing proactively to the continuous improvement of finance operations.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- At least 2 years of practical experience in finance or accounting roles, preferably within Big 4 firms or similarly reputable organizations, demonstrating a sound understanding of financial cycles and regulatory demands.
- Fluency in both spoken and written Turkish and English to effectively communicate with local and international stakeholders.
- Proven capability in teamwork and strong intra-team communication skills.
- Comprehensive knowledge of fundamental accounting principles and financial reporting standards (GAAP).
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, including pivot tables, formulas, and financial data analysis techniques.
- Demonstrated interest in the banking sector and regulatory environments, geared towards operating within controlled financial ecosystems.
- Excellent analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail, capable of managing multiple priorities and meeting stringent deadlines.
- A proactive attitude, high level of responsibility, and a strong inclination for continual learning and improvement.
- Ability to collaborate with diverse international teams and adapt to comprehensive group reporting processes.
- Experience working with ERP or accounting software and banking platforms such as SAP or equivalent is advantageous.
- Professional accounting qualifications (e.g., CPA, SMMM) will be considered a plus.
- Prior experience with Internext banking systems and PeopleSoft General Ledger is advantageous.
