Job Summary
The Indonesia Lead will be responsible for assisting with and overseeing the running of the venture’s activity in country on a day to day basis. Project planning, execution, follow ups, interfacing with Group and/or SCV technology to overcome any potential obstacles to implementation. Ongoing engagement with Country / Group Operations to ensure that the build of the business will be seamless.
As the venture expands, you may be required to pivot from performing multifaceted duties into more of a leadership role. Your primary goal is to convey the vision and facilitate the venture’s progress by defining the overall strategy from launch to independence and beyond.
You will work closely with the SCV Leadership Team, Venture Leadership Teams, SCV Function Teams and wider bank COEs (Center of Excellence) to execute and consult as required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy
• Lead the setup of the different local entities needed
• Lead the licensing process for the different entities
• Provide advice on internal policies, contracts, partnerships, and corporate strategies
• Manage documentations (e.g., financing, loan, vendor/customer agreements)
• Draft corporate documents (AGMS, Articles of Association amendments, corporate actions)
• Manage legal risks for projects and business initiatives.
Compliance & Regulatory Affairs
• Ensure compliance with OJK, BI, PPATK, and multifinance regulations
• Develop and implement internal compliance programs
• Prepare regulatory reports to OJK and maintain regulator communications
Policy & Internal Controls
• Develop internal legal and compliance policies
• Conduct training and awareness programs on legal and business ethics
• Lead investigations into legal or ethical violations.
Business
• Establish an effective and scalable operational set up, resourced for a growing Venture’s requirements, and governed strongly to ensure business continuity, seamless change, and customer resilience
• Deliver business, customer acquisition and revenue growth targets by investing in business development resources and tools, marketing, publicity and fit for purpose product and technology
• Leading the Venture in continuous enhancement and improvement of the Venture’s product offering as per agreed plan, overseeing & ensuring technology and product management resource capabilities are met to support the plan
• Create the marketing strategy to enable business and customer acquisition, establishment and enhancement of the Venture’s brand value, and continued growth in active customers
People & Talent
• Develop the Venture as employer of choice, where talented and purpose driven individuals aspire to work in
• Manage performance, wellbeing, and engagement by creating a culture of achievement and satisfaction
• Develop a strong organisational mindset ensuring this is well embedded into the Venture’s policies and operations
Risk Management
• Develop and maintain organisational awareness of operational risk management
• Oversee identification, assessment, management, monitoring, mitigation and reporting of compliance (including regulatory, conduct and financial crime) risks
• Oversee the formulation of compliance policies and standards for approval by the relevant governing body (as necessary)
• Oversee the development of controls for the Venture for all risk types as set out in the relevant Risk Management Frameworks
• Lead the regulatory relationships with each of the regulators
• Collaborate with other governance, risk, and compliance teams within the Group and SCV to anticipate horizon risks that may have a significant impact on the Venture and support the development of effective strategies to mitigate such risks.
Qualifications:
• Extensive experience in start-ups, Fintech or relevant industries playing leadership or management roles
• Demonstrates strong understanding being able to lead best in class business practices and make sound decisions in the context of the Venture's business amidst diverse situations
• Strong understanding of the market and industry regulatory framework and general risk management
Skills & Competencies:
• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Law; PERADI certification is a plus
• 8–10 years of experience in legal/compliance, preferably in multifinance, banking, fintech or financial services
• Strong knowledge of financing law, OJK regulations, consumer protection, AML, and Code of Conduct
• Experienced in dealing with regulators, external counsel, and consultants
• Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, collaboration and leadership skills
• Fluent in Bahasa Indonesia and English (spoken and written)
• Good business acumen (including ability to assess risk and appropriate levels of return)
• Knowledge of the organization's industry group, trends, directions, major issues, regulatory considerations
