Job Summary

As an Executive Principal Relationship Manager for Financial Institutions (FI) at Standard Chartered, you will take a leadership role in managing strategic relationships with large banks, broker dealers, and non-bank financial institutions (NBFI). Your expertise and insightful industry knowledge will play a critical role in shaping and delivering client account plans that span the entire client lifecycle. Key Responsibilities

  • In this position, you will partner closely with Relationship and Product Managers to coordinate seamless execution of complex financial transactions including mergers and acquisitions, private equity placements, and acquisition financing.
  • Your strategic mindset will drive the identification and cultivation of new commercial opportunities, while ensuring the delivery of bespoke, structured financial solutions tailored to each client’s unique requirements.
  • Develop and implement innovative client strategies that enhance business growth and deepen client engagement in the financial institutions sector.
  • Conduct thorough competitor pricing analysis and benchmarking to maintain market competitiveness and inform strategic pricing decisions.
  • Originate new client relationships with a focus on delivering tailored solutions that balance risk and reward effectively.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Product Development, Structuring, and Implementation teams to bring complex product offerings to fruition, ensuring client satisfaction and adherence to timelines.
  • Maintain rigorous account planning, including detailed call reports and deal pipelines, to ensure transparency and ongoing client engagement.
  • Continuously enhance your industry and product knowledge, with a particular focus on sustainable finance initiatives, emerging market technologies, and relevant economic trends that impact client opportunities.
  • Work in close consultation with Risk, Legal, and Compliance teams to uphold credit worthiness across client portfolios, maintaining alignment with regulatory frameworks and internal policies.

Skills and Experience

  • We seek a trusted advisor with exceptional relationship management skills who is adept at cultivating long-term partnerships and delivering exceptional client experiences tailored to diverse behaviours and preferences.
  • Deep understanding of Financial Institutions & Investor (NBFI) Clients. Public Sector industry knowledge is an added bonus.
  • Strong analytical capabilities, including the ability to evaluate complex financial statements and assess investment suitability, are essential to succeed in this role.
  • Deep knowledge of financial markets and transaction banking, with a proven ability to formulate impactful perspectives on key client industries, including awareness of ongoing regulatory developments and market trends.
  • Robust risk management experience, ensuring balanced client growth while maintaining portfolio integrity and compliance.
  • Comprehensive understanding of financial services regulatory environments and the capacity to navigate complex compliance requirements.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of influencing and collaborating across multiple teams and cultural contexts.
