Job Summary
As the Lead for South Africa Onsite Technology Services at Standard Chartered, you will play a critical role in maintaining and optimising our front office production systems. Your expertise will ensure operational resilience, security, and cost efficiency across technology infrastructures and applications crucial to electronic trading and market information systems. This hands-on position requires a proactive approach to technical support, security management, and vendor collaboration to maintain a robust technology environment.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will serve as the principal technology liaison within South Africa, aligning IT services with business objectives to guarantee a seamless operational environment. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing expert 1st and 2nd line technical support, quickly diagnosing and resolving issues to minimize downtime for users across the organisation.
- Managing incident and change management workflows meticulously to ensure service quality, transparency, and adherence to internal guidelines.
- Overseeing procurement and deployment of new technology resources, supporting business growth while maintaining cost-efficiency and scalability.
- Conducting regular reviews of technology standards and performance metrics, identifying risks and weaknesses to enforce robust mitigation strategies aligned with global security policies.
- Collaborating closely with global teams and external vendors to ensure high service levels, stability, and security of critical technology infrastructure.
- Leading initiatives to enhance disaster recovery, business continuity, and cybersecurity protocols, safeguarding data integrity and consistency in an evolving threat landscape.
Skills and Experience
As a successful candidate, you will possess strong technical expertise across a range of IT domains crucial for banking technology environments, including:
- Proficient administration and support of Microsoft Windows 11 operating systems, ensuring optimal performance and security.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the Microsoft Office 365 suite, including its deployment, configuration, and user support.
- Experience with core banking systems and technologies, understanding their integration and operational impacts.
- Expertise in Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Management processes to ensure uninterrupted service availability.
- Familiarity with Data Centre operations and backup infrastructure, with a focus on maintaining data integrity and availability.
- Strong understanding of Network Infrastructure components and administration, facilitating secure and reliable communications.
- Practical experience in cybersecurity measures including vulnerability identification, remediation, and ongoing monitoring to protect against threats.
- Alongside technical skills, candidates should demonstrate excellent problem-solving abilities, capacity to work collaboratively in diverse teams, and a proactive approach to continuous learning and adaptability in a fast-evolving technological landscape.
Qualifications
- Your educational background should include a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Information Technology or Computer Science.
- Microsoft Administrator Certification, demonstrating your capability to manage Microsoft environments effectively.
- Cisco Networking Certification, reflecting a solid grounding in networking principles and best practices.
- Additional certifications in cybersecurity or cloud technologies would be advantageous, reflecting ongoing commitment to professional development.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both spoken and written, are essential to effectively collaborate with stakeholders across multiple teams and geographies.
