Job Summary

The Branch Risk Manager will support the strategic business agenda while providing risk, assurance, control, and governance oversight across the branch. The role is responsible for maintaining effective governance forums, strengthening operational risk management, and ensuring processes operate in line with internal policies, external regulations, and the Bank’s control standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the branch strategy by maintaining strong risk, assurance, and governance oversight in partnership with the Head of Risk and Control and branch management team.
  • Maintain governance and assurance over key processes, including Anti-Money Laundering, sanctions checks, protection of Bank and client information, and safeguarding of assets.
  • Review branch processes to ensure appropriate controls and governance are in place for new and existing initiatives.
  • Provide input into global process and control design, ensuring local requirements are considered while remaining aligned to Group standards.
  • Facilitate effective management of operational risk across the branch in line with internal policies, external laws, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support the implementation and embedding of the Enterprise Risk Management Framework across branch activities.
  • Monitor and help minimise operational losses, control issues, and risk matters, ensuring appropriate follow-up and resolution.
  • Coordinate governance forums, operational risk reviews, regulatory audits, inspections, and related submissions for the branch.
  • Work with process owners to ensure products, processes, data remediation plans, and Customer Due Diligence governance requirements are fit for purpose and compliant.
  • Demonstrate exemplary conduct, uphold the Group Code of Conduct, and proactively identify, escalate, mitigate, and resolve risk, conduct, and compliance matters.

Skills and Experience

  • Strong experience in operational risk management, governance, assurance, controls, and regulatory compliance.
  • Good understanding of branch operations, process governance, risk frameworks, audit management, and control standards.
  • Ability to work with senior stakeholders, process owners, risk framework owners, functional partners, auditors, and regulators.
  • Strong judgement, decision-making, and ability to manage ambiguity in a changing business environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate, build trust, drive accountability, and maintain a client-focused approach.
  • Technical strength in business facilitation, change management, frontline risk management, business governance and support, and business strategy.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in a related discipline
  • Professional certifications in Risk Management, Compliance, Audit, Governance, or related fields are an added advantage.
