Job Summary

We are seeking a Risk Manager – Cash Management Operations (CMO) to manage first-line risk activities for our Cash and Trade Operations. This dual-role position is ideal for a professional with a balanced blend of operations and business risk experience, who understands the criticality of risk in real-time service delivery
 
You will act as the in-country risk lead, working closely with the Cluster Head of Business Risk and the Chief Operating Officer (COO) team to ensure effective control execution, risk identification, and regulatory readiness across all Cash Management Operations (CMO) functions.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Risk & Governance

  • Serve as the first-line risk partner for Cash and Trade Operations.
  • Execute and monitor risk controls, ensuring compliance with Group and local regulatory standards.
  • Lead periodic risk reviews, audits, and control assessments.
  • Provide oversight on incident escalation, root cause analysis, and remediation plans.

Stakeholder Engagement & Advisory

  • Collaborate with Operations, Risk, and Compliance teams to drive a strong control culture.
  • Support governance forums with relevant data, reports, and risk updates.
  • Coordinate business continuity, regulatory reviews, and control testing activities.

Risk Monitoring & Control Framework

  • Maintain accurate Key Risk Indicators (KRIs), Key Control Indicators (KCIs), and operational risk registers.
  • Challenge and validate risk assessments, identify control gaps, and recommend enhancements.
  • Support automation and process improvements to mitigate operational risk exposure.

Skills and Experience

  • Blend of operations and business risk experience — must understand both perspectives.Proven ability to manage first-line risk in a banking or financial services environment.
  • Strong eye for detail with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Familiarity with risk frameworks (Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF), Operations Risk (OR), compliance) and hands-on operational controls.
  • Prior experience within the Bank system or financial operations is highly preferred

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in Business, Risk, Finance, or a related field.
  • Risk-related certifications an added advantage (e.g., Certified in Risk Management Assurance (CRMA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Financial Risk Manager (FRM)) are advantageous.
