Job Summary

This role will be responsible for delivering insightful, concise, and prompt credit analysis for the portfolios of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) as well as Commercial clients under management. The role entails analyzing financial statements, assigning credit grades using the appropriate scorecard, documenting client risks and mitigants, and continuously monitoring for significant credit-related events. The Credit Analyst collaborates closely with the Relationship Management and Risk teams in relation to both client strategies and credit assessments. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute credit risk analysis of SME and Commercial clients, considering industry dynamics, competitive positioning, funding strategy, and financial health. Perform financial analysis, stress testing, and fraud risk assessment, while documenting risks and mitigants.
  • Perform timely drafting of credit analysis, taking into consideration the dynamics and nature of the client’s industry, including: risk aspects surrounding industry, competitive positioning within industry, funding strategy, financial policies and treasury activities, cash flow and liquidity by performing ratio analysis and/or stress testing (e.g. balance sheet strength, cash flow and profitability vulnerability) and impact of reputational, climate and sustainability risks on the risk profile
  • Develop current/forward year base forecast performance expectation for client credit analysis
  • Perform periodic checks on existing clients’ credit assessment, security monitoring, portfolio reviews and regular compliance checks, and keep management abreast of early warning signals
  • Perform fraud risk assessment of its clients in accordance with the standards and document any residual risks and mitigants and prepare country-specific regulatory check-lists, where applicable
  • Work closely with Relationship Managers, Segment & Products from point of origination and deal structuring to provide a credit / policy perspective to the opportunity.
  • Conduct credit intelligence to identify potential business opportunities with acceptable risk profile, supporting origination roles and product teams in product solutioning and recommending products to clients.
  • Maintain awareness of the Bank's products programs and their requirements in relation to credit risk
  • Be abreast with emerging technologies and support the banks digital agenda by supporting and adapting to the strategic changes
  • Understand, identify and utilise alternative data in the credit assessment process to provide a holistic view of the client
  • Use available information and tools for dynamic monitoring of credit risk
