About Wealth and Retail Banking
Wealth and Retail Banking (WRB) serves more than 11 million clients in many of the world’s fastest-growing markets. Our client continuum spans from Mass Retail to Affluent, including high-net worth clients served by our Private Bank. We leverage digital banking channels with a human touch to provide clients with differentiated products and services such as deposits, payments, financing, wealth management and personalised advice. We also support small business clients with their business banking needs.
Job Summary
This role will be responsible for designing and implementing the Global Wealth Management strategy, adapting the global proposition to local market dynamics, client needs and regulatory requirements. The role will lead the growth and integration of Wealth Management solutions across key client segments, with a particular focus on Affluent, SME and Employee Banking clients, while driving wealth product penetration and performance across all relevant channels. It will establish strong relationships with key stakeholders and client segments to deliver the country’s customer, business, revenue and profitability objectives and build a sustainable, client-centric Wealth Management franchise.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and lead the in-country Wealth Management strategy, ensuring strong alignment with Group Wealth priorities, country business objectives, client segment strategies, and the overall strategic direction of the Bank, while driving sustainable growth and integration of the Wealth business across all relevant client segments
- Provide strategic leadership across Investment Strategy & Advisory, Wealth Markets Products and Sales, translating Group Wealth product strategy, priorities and objectives into an effective local proposition and ensuring that products and services remain relevant to evolving client needs, market conditions and regulatory requirements
- Develop, manage and continuously enhance the consolidated country Wealth strategy across short-, medium- and long-term horizons, working closely with Business Heads, client segments and support functions to establish priorities, resolve strategic issues, monitor performance and ensure effective execution of agreed business plans.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the local business environment, competitive landscape, client needs and emerging market trends to identify growth opportunities and cross-sell potential, leveraging multiple products and service solutions to deliver differentiated and valuable customer propositions.
- Drive the commercial performance of Wealth products across all client segments by establishing and monitoring sales, revenue, service and productivity KPIs, determining appropriate resource requirements, allocating sales and service targets, and implementing corrective actions where required to achieve business objectives.
- Identify and capitalize on opportunities to grow the Wealth franchise, including acquisition of new-to-Wealth and HNWI customers, deepening existing client relationships, increasing product holdings and penetration, improving utilization and activation, and building sustainable annuity revenue through product enhancements, extensions and portfolio optimization.
- Lead the development and delivery of customer-centric Wealth propositions by working with internal stakeholders, external product providers and relevant regulatory bodies, ensuring products and services offer strong value propositions while meeting Group standards, local market requirements and applicable regulatory expectations.
- Strengthen operational effectiveness and resilience by developing and continuously improving policies, processes, systems and processing workflows that support delivery of the Wealth strategy, enhance customer experience, increase collaboration between teams, reduce operational inefficiencies and provide a scalable platform for future business growth.
- Ensure appropriate governance oversight across the Wealth business and maintain high standards of regulatory conduct and compliance, aligning policies, processes, systems and people with internal requirements, external regulations, audit observations and changing regulatory expectations.
- Provide strong leadership to the in-country Wealth team by setting clear strategic direction, establishing priorities and performance expectations, promoting effective collaboration across businesses and functions, and ensuring adequate resources and capabilities are in place to deliver agreed business objectives.
