Title: Analyst Clearing Operation (Senior Assistant)

Role Overview
As an Analyst Clearing Operation based in Kathmandu, Nepal, you will play a vital role in ensuring smooth and accurate processing of financial transactions within our clearing operations team. This full-time office-based position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the efficiency and integrity of Standard Chartered's operational processes, helping to maintain robust financial systems and reinforcing the bank's reputation for excellence.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to manage transaction lifecycle activities, resolve discrepancies, and uphold compliance standards. Your work will directly support the bank’s mission to drive commerce and prosperity, ensuring operational excellence and a superior client experience.
This position does not involve people management responsibilities, allowing you to focus on operational expertise and process improvement within a supportive and dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and reconcile clearing transactions to ensure accuracy and timeliness within agreed service levels
- Process Inward and Outward cheques, perform return reporting, scanning, risk scanning and reconciliation
- Process transactions related to Nepal Pay QR and Straight 2 Bank (online platform
- Address to customer requests related to signatures and Connect IPS
- Investigate and resolve transaction discrepancies, liaising with internal stakeholders and external parties as necessary.
- Maintain detailed transaction records and prepare reports to support audit and compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with technology and risk teams to enhance clearing operation processes and systems.
- Proactively identify operational risks and contribute to mitigation strategies.
- Stay informed on regulatory changes affecting clearing operations and ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
- Assist in the development and documentation of process workflows and procedures to support continuous improvement initiatives.
Candidate Profile

- Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with banking clearing systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and the ability to learn new tools quickly.
