Job Summary
The role holder is an individual contributor within Corporate Affairs, Brand and Marketing (CABM), responsible for supporting and executing Corporate Communications and Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB) Marketing activities for Standard Chartered Malaysia and Standard Chartered Saadiq Malaysia. The role holder works closely with business, regional/group communications, brand, marketing, risk, control and external stakeholder teams, and does not have direct people leadership responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
People & Talent*
- Responsible – Lead through example by demonstrating the Bank’s values, tone and expected standards in all communications, marketing and stakeholder interactions.
- Responsible – Support executives and spokespersons through preparation, briefing materials and coordination for interviews, speaking engagements and spokesperson training.
- Consulted – Provide input to business and functional stakeholders on communications readiness, audience engagement and capability needs linked to communications or marketing activities.
- Accountable – Not applicable to the role; the role holder is an individual contributor and does not have direct reports, people management, hiring, succession planning or team structure responsibilities.
Risk Management*
- Responsible – Identify, assess, monitor and escalate communications, brand, reputational, conduct, regulatory and operational risks arising from assigned activities.
- Responsible – Ensure communications and marketing activities comply with internal policies, approvals, controls, brand standards and applicable external regulatory requirements.
- Responsible – Work with risk and control partners to support effective risk mitigation, issue resolution and control adherence for assigned processes.
- Accountable – Maintain awareness of the main risks facing the Group and the role holder’s part in managing risks within Corporate Communications and CIB Marketing activities.
Qualifications
- Preferably a University graduate in communications, journalism or equivalent.
- Excellent spoken and written command of English language.
Skills and Experience
- 4 to 5 years of experience across social media, branding, events, and stakeholder management.
- Should have Planned and executed event content, including live coverage, copywriting, and social media postings across platforms and develop and execute social media plans.
