Job Description: 

Job Summary

We are seeking a commercially minded Market Data Team Member to support the Group Market Data function, primarily aligned to Corporate Investment Banking (CIB) and Wealth Retail Banking (WRB). This role supports the day-to-day management of market data services across the subscription lifecycle—onboarding, entitlements, renewals, usage support, invoicing coordination, and basic reporting—ensuring timely, compliant, and cost-effective access to market data tools and content.

  • Strong attention to detail and data quality mindset.
  • Good analytical skills with ability to interpret usage/spend data and produce clear MI.
  • Effective stakeholder management and service orientation, with confidence to engage front office users and internal control partners.
  • Clear written and verbal communication; able to document requirements, processes, and decisions.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively within a team.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy

Vendor & Product Management

  • Assist with vendor communications for day-to-day operational matters (user lists, entitlement confirmations, service issues) and track actions to completion.
  • Support contract and renewal administration by maintaining key dates, product details, and licensing/usage documentation.
  • Contribute to evaluations of new data sources/tools by collecting user feedback, summarising features, and documenting expected use cases.

 

Business

Business Partnering

  • Act as a point of contact for users for market data-related queries (access, entitlement changes, usage guidance) and follow up to closure.
  • Gather and document business requirements, translating them into clear requests for vendors and internal support teams.
  • Support periodic engagement with stakeholders by preparing usage/cost summaries and identifying opportunities to optimise platform usage.

Processes

Market Data Lifecycle Support

  • Support the end-to-end market data subscription lifecycle including request intake, onboarding, entitlement setup, renewals, and service rationalisation activities.
  • Coordinate with Technology & Operations to support provisioning, desktop/application access, and basic troubleshooting or escalation.

 

People & Talent

Collaboration Across stakeholder and MDS Teams

  • Act as a trusted point of contact for users on market data queries, access, and usage guidance.
  • Work closely with other MDS functions to allow for effective handovers, ensuring data quality, process adherence and consistent service delivery

 

Risk Management

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Support adherence to vendor licensing terms by maintaining entitlement records and assisting with periodic internal reviews and vendor attestation/audit requests.
  • Escalate potential licensing or control issues promptly to management and relevant control partners (e.g. Legal, Compliance, Finance).

 

Governance

Data Governance

  • Assist with cost allocation and chargeback inputs by maintaining mapping of services to business units/cost centres.
  • Prepare recurring management information (MI) packs and ad hoc reporting on subscriptions, usage, and spend drivers.
