Job Summary
We are looking for a relationship-focused professional to grow our Global Chinese (GC) SME Banking business. You will acquire new SME clients, deepen existing relationships, understand clients’ financial needs and provide suitable banking solutions while delivering a strong customer experience and maintaining high standards of risk and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Acquire and develop relationships with new and existing Global Chinese SME clients.
- Build a strong pipeline through referrals, networking, events, branch activities and other approved sourcing channels.
- Understand clients’ business and financial needs and provide suitable solutions.
- Cross-sell relevant banking products, including trade services, cash management, treasury and investment solutions.
- Develop account plans and proactively manage a portfolio of active and growing SME clients.
- Work closely with product, cash and treasury specialists to structure appropriate client solutions.
- Achieve individual sales, portfolio growth and other performance targets.
- Maintain regular client engagement and provide relevant market updates and insights.
- Support clients in adopting the Bank’s digital and online banking solutions.
- Maintain strong customer service standards and resolve client issues effectively.
- Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders across the Bank.
Skills and Experience
- Relevant undergraduate degree.
- 1-3 years of relevant experience in banking or financial services.
- Ability to read and write in English and Chinese.
- Good understanding of SME banking products and the financial needs of SME clients.
- Knowledge of cash management and trade working capital would be an advantage.
- Relevant investment and insurance certifications and licences, where required.
- Strong sales, relationship management, negotiation and communication skills.
- Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Self-motivated, results-oriented and comfortable working towards sales targets.
- Able to work independently while collaborating effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Able to balance commercial objectives with regulatory and compliance requirements.
- Willing and able to travel extensively as required.
