Job Summary:

The role entails the development and implementation of strategic initiatives to grow the Wealth Retail Banking business across products, distribution, risk management, and project management. Cross-functional collaboration across departments within Wealth Retail Banking and beyond will be required as part of the design and execution of said strategies.

 

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Actively participate in the planning, formulation, implementation, and monitoring of the long- and short-term strategies of Wealth Retail Banking Malaysia to drive business growth.
  • Collaborate with management and relevant stakeholders on business reviews, and periodic monitoring of Wealth Retail Banking business performance, long-term strategies, and short-term initiatives.
  • Identify learnings and potential opportunities or areas of improvement for the development/revision of future strategies.
  • Act as a conduit to drive collaboration across management teams within Wealth Retail Banking and beyond.
  • Collaborate with the Products and Finance teams to determine opportunities for cost and capital efficiencies, and implement and track initiatives required to execute and deliver on the efficiencies.
  • Provide regular management and financial updates to the CEO MY office and Group Wealth Retail Banking.
  • Act as the point person for engagement with the regulator regarding Wealth Retail Banking products and services.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field.  
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in strategic planning, financial analysis, or a related field within the financial services industry.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Change Management: Proven experience in managing and implementing change initiatives within an organization. Ability to lead and support teams through transitions.
  • Strategic Communications: Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively to various stakeholders. Experience in developing and executing strategic communication plans.
  • Pricing Models and Analytics: Expertise in developing and analyzing pricing models to optimize profitability. Ability to use data analytics to inform pricing strategies.
  • Profitability Analysis: Strong analytical skills to assess and improve profitability across different business units. Experience with financial modeling and profitability analysis.
  • Budget Management: Experience in creating, managing, and monitoring budgets. Ability to ensure financial resources are allocated effectively to meet business objectives.
  • Planning (Tactical and Strategic): Ability to develop both short-term tactical plans and long-term strategic plans. Experience in aligning business activities with strategic goals.
  • AML Policies and Procedures: Knowledge of Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations and the ability to ensure compliance with AML policies and procedures.
  • Risk Management (Financial and Non-Financial): Strong understanding of risk management principles, including the ability to identify, assess, and mitigate financial and non-financial ris
