Job Summary

As part of the Client Experience, Insights and Development (CXID) team, the Content Designer-UX Writer will work on various types of content, menus and information structures to ensure a strong user experience. You will collaborate with product teams and UX designers to bring consistency, clarity and conciseness to the user interfaces of our internal and external platforms. You’ll apply your knowledge of how information can be best structured and categorised to improve UI navigation and overall user experience while providing guidance on improving existing menus and flows.

You will collaborate with your team members on the Content Design team to update our book of UX writing standards, which we apply to our UX writing projects to ensure consistency and compliance for our clients and end-users.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivering work that is client-centric and user-centric
  • Working closely with UX designers and product owners to gather business and technical requirements in relationship to content design and strategy 
  • Providing content design recommendations to the team based on information obtained through content inventories, current-state analysis, content audits, competitive assessments, user testing, and website metrics.
  • Gleaning content requirements for an organisation through analysis, content inventories and audits, current-state assessments and stakeholder analysis; and, forming gaps and issues analysis for future-state recommendations.
  • Understanding the role of content, not only within user interfaces, but also other types of content that support the end-to-end user journey.
  • Understanding how to use and build style guides.
  • A strong grasp of content technologies including content management systems, metadata and taxonomy management tools, migration tools, analytics tools.
  • Creating and reviewing information architecture and nomenclature for the most intuitive structuring of content.
  • Working with senior content strategists to understand how to create a client-focused content strategy roadmap.
  • Planning, estimating and scoping UX writing work and working with operations to track progress
  • Understand how to drive and manage change that comes about from new content solutions, such as production and governance changes within an organisation
  • Liaise with stakeholders including extensive contact with diverse client groups including representatives from Product, Marketing, Business, Legal & Compliance teams.
  • Assist UX design leads to scope, plan and provide estimates for your projects.
  • Be a champion for content design within our broader organisation
  • Our team services the entire Corporate and Institutional Banking domain. This includes corporate banking and trading platforms, API developer platforms, and internal employee productivity tools and services. Your initial focus will be on Straight2Bank, our banking platform for corporate clients.
  • You need to be familiar with the concepts of design language systems, microcopy, component libraries, and UI best practices. You must be able to structure your time and be capable of taking the initiative. 
  • Our team is responsible for delivering quality tool and service design, that is meant to enable colleagues and customers. In doing so, we must be careful with data management and play our part in ensuring we protect it and that our designs take this into consideration. Risk management is interwoven in our design activities and you will need to ensure that risk is always a consideration throughout your design process all the way to delivery.
  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

Skills and Experience

•    Strong communication skills and demonstrated success presenting content strategy and solutions in a clear and compelling manner to cross-functional stakeholders that persuades action.
•    Extensive knowledge of best practices for writing. 
•    At least 8 years of experience creating rich content experiences, including in the banking and finance space.
•    Experience driving projects from initiation to delivery, defining the business value gained with the programme and using this with stakeholders to increase buy-in.
•    Experience with corporate banking platforms, finance or fintechs would be desirable
•    An understanding of psychology and behavioural science.
•    You understand global diversity and the ability to advise on solutions that suit all.
•    You have the ability and desire to keep challenging yourself and others with entrepreneurial attitude and passion for observing human behaviour, identifying team biases and surfacing these with grit.
•    You can guide business partners and evangelise a mindset for good experience and user-centricity.
•    You work smart, are flexible and skilled in establishing practical processes.
•    Familiarity with information architecture and experience in Agile and/or LEAN projects
•    Good stakeholder management and influencing skills
•    Ability to successfully integrate content strategy within an Agile development framework
•    Experience applying customer research, behaviour analytics or digital analytics to drive your content strategy and optimisation. 

Qualifications

  • Education equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree in library/information science, human/computer interaction, computer science, graphic arts/digital design, psychology, business, or other equivalent discipline.
  • IC Agile or SCRUM certification would be desirable
