Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced regulatory compliance professional to join our Compliance, Financial Crime and Conduct Risk (CFCR) function as Director, Regulatory Conduct Risk & Oversight. This role is responsible for providing regulatory advisory, governance oversight, regulatory engagement, compliance monitoring, and internal review management.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and maintain effective relationships with regulatory authorities, ensuring proactive engagement and alignment with regulatory expectations.
• Support the development and execution of the country CFCR strategy, governance framework, and regulatory oversight agenda.
• Provide expert guidance on regulatory requirements, emerging regulatory developments, and compliance obligations impacting the Bank’s operations.
• Coordinate regulatory reviews, examinations, surveys, and inspections, including preparation of responses and management of stakeholder engagement.
• Oversee the implementation and monitoring of CFCR policies, procedures, standards, and regulatory commitments.
• Monitor regulatory risk trends, identify emerging issues, and drive appropriate mitigation and remediation actions.
• Support governance forums, risk committees, and senior management reporting through insightful analysis and reporting of regulatory and conduct risk matters.
• Manage compliance-related reporting obligations and ensure timely escalation of significant risks, issues, and regulatory breaches.
• Provide oversight of risk assessments, control frameworks, assurance activities, audit actions, and regulatory remediation programmes.
• Coordinate conduct risk management activities, action tracking, governance reporting, and stakeholder engagement across the organisation.
• Promote a strong culture of ethics, integrity, compliance, and risk awareness while fostering collaboration across business and functional teams.
• Assist in key change programmes and projects for Country CFCR
• Support workplans specific to Country CFCR projects/ initiatives, and communicate the same to stakeholders in a regular, timely fashion to inform and seek inputs.
• Provide CFCR governance support to Risk, including coordination of regulatory and conduct-related matters, action tracking and escalation of key issues or dependencies
• Coordinate conduct risk management activities, including monitoring of conduct risk themes, governance reporting, stakeholder engagement and follow-up on agreed actions.
• Prepare and coordinate governance reporting for functional governance forums and ERC, including consolidation of inputs, quality review and timely escalation of material matters.
• Perform first-level review of outputs prepared by 1st Line to ensure completeness, accuracy, timeliness and alignment with CFCR Malaysia requirements before review by the B4 role or relevant accountable owner.
• As applicable oversee activities managed under relevant GBS teams.
Qualifications and Skills
• Degree qualification in a relevant discipline.
• Strong experience in regulatory compliance, conduct risk, risk management, or regulatory affairs within the banking or financial services industry.
• Sound understanding of banking regulations, regulatory expectations, governance frameworks, and risk management practices.
• Proven ability to engage with regulators, senior stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience managing regulatory examinations, audits, remediation programmes, and governance reporting.
• Relevant professional certifications in regulatory compliance or risk management are preferred.
• Membership with professional bodies such as AICB and commitment to continuous professional development is advantageous.
