Job Description: 

Job Summary

Your role is responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating local risks within the Financial Markets business (interest rate, FX, and credit), with a focus on ASEAN markets including Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Brunei, and Indonesia. You will collaborate closely with 2nd and 3rd line functions and Business Risk Managers (BRMs) within Markets and CIB to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and to implement robust, effective risk management strategies.

Key responsibilities include incident management (conducting root cause assessment, developing action plans, and overseeing remediation), supporting internal and external audits, and supporting the annual risk and control self-assessment (RCSA) to ensure that key risks and controls are appropriately identified, documented, and managed.

 

Key Responsibilities

•  Collaborate closely with the Business & Client Solutions team to ensure their risk framework effectively aligns with current risks
•  Coordinate with operations teams, group risk, and compliance to report any incidents to regulators, ensuring key stakeholders remain informed of developments
•  Manage audit interactions and task ownership, such as responding to requests during fieldwork
•  Prepare for audits by thoroughly documenting concerns and resolving them where possible prior to the audit
•  Serve as a primary point of contact for audit teams when required
•  Conduct risk assessments for ad-hoc events, including external event read-across
•  Lead primary risk and event incident response management, including flash reporting and escalation
•  Ensure all risk incidents are communicated to relevant stakeholders in accordance with policy
•  Guarantee timely and accurate logging of all risks in the bank’s risk monitoring system
•  Administer M7 risk event logging processes
•  Complete RCSA refreshes and annual submissions
•  Evaluate and escalate risk profiles to appropriate committees and forums
•  Oversee control measures for Global Process Owners (GPOs)
•  Supervise service management activities, including IGAs, BCP planning, TPCP, and TPRM
•  Implement policies and procedures across business units, both market-specific and firm-wide
•  Support the development of risk conduct within Markets, focusing on elevating functional teams to industry standards to ensure policy compliance
•  Maintain oversight and ownership of all open risks related to Markets and specifically Business & Client Solutions, covering all jurisdictions requiring reporting, with emphasis on  knowledge in key markets such as EMIR, MiFID, DF, and others

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree (preferably in Accounting, Banking or Finance).
  • At least 8 years relevant business/financial experience, preferably in the financial services/ financal market

Skills and Experience

  • Good experience in operational risk for financial market (interest rate, FX, and credit)
  • Outstanding interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask and delegate effectively.
  • Deliver high quality output within tight deadlines.
  • Effective stakeholder management.
