Title: Head of Product Sales, Bancassurance

The job holder is to spearhead and expand the Bank’s Bancassurance distribution strategy. Accountable for driving sales performance across banking channels, developing strategic initiatives with insurance providers, and aligning product offerings to meet the evolving needs of customers. Act as the key interface between product, sales, and insurance providers, playing a pivotal role in designing and executing sales strategies, managing channel performance, and ensuring the successful rollout and uptake of insurance products through the banking network
Strategy
- Supervise a specialist team to build a sustainable business model across Priority Banking, Personal Banking , and Business Banking segments.
- Drive Bancassurance revenue and sales volume targets for Life Insurance.
- Serve as the main contact point with all insurance providers, developing and maintaining solid relationships
- Play an instrumental role in developing and executing a comprehensive business plan covering all life insurance activities across all segments, aligned with business targets, insurance partners, and global strategy.
- Plan and execute activities to maintain sales engagement and momentum.
- Develop Insurance Specialists and frontline capabilities in distributing life insurance solutions through training modules that improve product knowledge, technical capability, sales proficiency, and governance/regulatory compliance.
- Leverage a wide range of bancassurance products to fulfill existing and potential retail clients’ insurance needs.
- Identify cross-selling opportunities and manage retail clients to achieve assigned revenue targets.
- Actively manage relationships with all insurance partners to ensure smooth distribution channel operations, including sales, processes, services, governance, and complaints.
- Engage with insurance partners through annual joint planning sessions, quarterly Steering Committee meetings, regular sales reviews, product meetings, and governance meetings
- Identify life insurance product needs for all customer segments with relevant GMs, product managers, and segment managers, developing appropriate product and service propositions with insurance partners.
- Stay abreast of market , industry practices, and best practices to continuously improve overall business performance.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree or MBA in a related field from an accredited institution.
- Extensive experience in sales roles within the financial services industry, particularly in insurance and wealth management solutions.
- Solid background and proven track record in leading insurance products development, management, product proposition, ideally with business/sales management experience on insurance products at senior level
- Demonstrate purpose-led leadership and strategic focus with strong growth mindset and passion to champion change and promote innovation.
- Highly effective navigation within a complex matrix environment, governance standard and regulatory context with agile ways of working and strong engagement with different levels of internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills with stakeholders at all levels across countries, regional structures.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
- Seasoned people leadership to engage, motivate and develop a diverse team; drive strong performance culture with clear aligned direction, build talent pipeline and business bench strength
- Strong outcomes focus with adaptability, sound judgement and able to make tough decision, and accountability in delivery
