Title: Linux System Engineer

Job Summary
- Manage and maintain Linux-based systems and servers, ensuring that they operate smoothly, securely, and efficiently.
- Install and configure Linux operating systems on physical or virtual servers.
- Review and ensure sufficient Linux-based processing capacity is always available.
- Identify and ensure implementation of application and technology performance improvements.
- Ensure the Linux-based Security Environment and Systems are stable and secure.
- Engineering and technical support for Linux-based related products and tools.
- Reviews and support Linux-based Risk and Controls requirement.
- Conducts Linux-based Security, risk and control assessments.
- Performs actions to address or mitigate risks and vulnerabilities.
- Participates in enforcement of control security risks and threats.
- Develop technical solutions to business problems based upon best practices.
- Develop automation, tooling, reports, utilities, and batch programs.
- Coordinate with Security Management team to review security proposals and assess technical feasibility.
- Liaise with Applications teams support staff, providing Linux-based technical support as and where required.
- Usage of Azure DevOps functions.
Our Ideal Candidates should have:-
- 15 years experience in Linux Systems environments.
- 10 years in LinuxOne Systems Support roles.
- Extensive knowledge of Linux Operating Systems, Software packages, Security practices and Monitoring tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication with all levels of management
- A team player who enjoys working with people on all level.
- Able to work independently and under pressure to meet tight timeline.
- Excellent communication with strong command in English.
- High learning aptitude, able to learn new products and technology within short timeframe.

Key Responsibilities
Strategy
- Responsible for supporting the Linux-based Technical, Risk and Control requirement.
- Working in partnership with all other Stakeholders to deliver the Business requirement, Country regulatory requirement and SCB Control standards.
- Work with Application teams, Information Security teams to ensure infrastructure solutions delivered into production meet bank’s standards and are fit for purpose for future cyber-resilience.
- Influence relevant stakeholders to obtain a consensus where required.
- Establish and maintain strong strategic partnerships with vendors and service suppliers for the Linux-based technical and security requirement support.
Business
- Awareness and understanding of the wider business, economic and market environment in which the group operates and the impact upon Linux-based Services
- Ensure strong collaboration with Application team, Group Information Security teams to ensure Linux-based Services solutions delivered into production meet bank standards.
- Where appropriate, partner with the broader Linux-based Stakeholders to develop RFIs, oversee product evaluations, co-ordinate product selections, to ensure solution meet bank IT standards for the Linux-based services.
- Maintenance and support the reports that related to Control requirement.

- Be responsible for maintaining front line processes related to Linux-based Technical Services and Control requirement.
- Continue to evolve and embed best practices in key areas.
- Consistently measure and assess processes to ensure optimal function.
- Ensure that Linux-based Services comply with the Technology Operations processes within the Operational Risk Framework. These include but are not limited to, Incident Management, IT Service Continuity Management and Operations Monitoring.
- Define and refine relevant Linux-based Services specific policies and procedures.
- Deliver best in class practices and services from the Linux-based Services.
People & Talent
- Provide technical leadership across the team, with a deep understanding of concepts, principles, and practices on Linux-based Technical and Control requirement.
- Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values among Linux-based services.
Risk Management
- Responsible for identifying, assessing, monitoring, controlling and mitigating risks to the Linux-based Services environment.
- Ensure a full understanding of the risk and control environment within Linux-based Services that related to the internal and external audit requirement.
- Ensure robust support procedures are in place and adhere to Group Security Audit policies and locally within countries.

- Willingness to work with any local regulators in an open and cooperative manner for any Linux-based Services related issues.
