Job Summary

Strategy
•    Determine and formulate Retail Marketing communication strategies for Malaysia, work closely with respective WRB business units to ensure alignment of business goals and agenda
•    Manage and bring together creative expertise from creative agencies, event organisers, media house and/or media owners to deliver holistic and integrated communication strategies and approaches.
•    Contribute to overall Corporate Affairs and Brand & Marketing visions/priorities. 

Business
•    Design and execute campaign communication strategies to meet WRB needs.
•    Use consumer, competitor and research insights to provide thought leadership to formulate marketing strategy that supports Malaysia’s brand & marketing and business strategy.
•    Leverage on Group’s central research resources to obtain insights that will sharpen understanding of consumer needs and trends for informed decision making.
•    Help achieve corporate ambition on building a strong and relevant global brand through close collaboration with regional/group brand team, adhering to guidelines and standardisation.
•    Develop and implement the annual marketing plan/calendar.
•    Manage marketing campaigns and programs to include Global and Regional Sponsorships.
•    Drive digital marketing awareness with the Product & Segment teams via digital platforms.
•    Forecast, measure and report results of marketing activities within agreed deadlines.
•    Be a Brand Champion - ensure all segment and product campaigns live up to our Brand promise of Here for good while, at the same time, delivering committed business outcomes.
•    Lead the delivery of WRB marketing activities in a framework that ensures all are executed within the brand specifications (brand positioning, brand architecture) to reinforce the overall Standard Chartered brand positioning through consistency in tone, manner, look and feel.

Processes
•    Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures and guidelines.
•    Proactively manage advertising and media agencies.
•    Identify areas for process improvement and recommend ways to increase functional effectiveness and improve operational.

People & Talent
•    Cultivate teamwork and promote multi-tasking within the team.
•    Ensure all WRB brand & marketing activities are aligned with plans, forecasts, and capacity models.

Risk Management
•    Demonstrate shift towards anticipation of risk.
•    Proactively identify and mitigate in country risk issues and ensure that they are reported/escalated in line with Group and local policies and procedures in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities

Governance
•    Accountability for WRB Marketing budgets and marketing performance
•    Ensure adherence to the Risk Management Framework, Group Code of Conduct and various Policies, Procedures and Guidelines of the Bank by the regional Corporate Affairs and Brand & Marketing team

Qualifications

EDUCATION: BACHELOR’S DEGREE (PREFERABLY IN MARKETING)
TRAINING : MORE THAN 2 YEARS BANKING EXPERIENCE
•    BROAD KNOWLEDGE OF RETAIL BANKING PRODUCTS WITH TRACK RECORD PRODUCT MANAGEMENT / MARKETING 
•    GOOD ANALYTICAL SKILL    
LANGUAGES: ENGLISH, BAHASA MALAYSIA, MANDARIN (OPTIONAL)
