Job Summary

 

The Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimising end‑to‑end operational processes that support the Corporate & Investment Banking business. The role ensures accurate, timely and compliant execution of all operational activities across products and markets, while maintaining strong risk, control and governance standards.

 

This position leads an operations team, drives process efficiency and automation, and collaborates closely with front office, product, risk, finance, technology and compliance stakeholders to deliver a high-quality client experience. The successful candidate is accountable for operational performance, issue resolution, and continuous improvement initiatives, supporting business growth within the bank’s regulatory, risk and service frameworks.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Service & Operations Management

  • Lead the Trade Settlement function to deliver consistent, high-quality services in line with Service Level Agreements (SLAs), efficiency and accuracy standards, and sound business judgment.
  • Ensure processing turnaround times meet or exceed agreed SLAs with internal stakeholders and processing hubs.
  • Maintain a strong focus on service quality, ensuring zero or minimal defects and timely resolution of issues.
  • Proactively manage customer interactions to prevent complaints related to service quality, responsiveness, or professionalism.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations to ensure optimal use of resources, while keeping operational risk within an acceptable level.
  • Contribute ideas and recommendations to enhance processes, procedures, and end-to-end workflows to improve efficiency, control, and client experience.
  • Handle and manage non-routine or ad-hoc tasks within agreed timelines.

Risk, Control & Compliance

  • Ensure full awareness of, and adherence to, all rules, regulations, policies, guidelines, procedures, and codes of conduct issued by the Bank and relevant authorities.
  • Exercise due care and diligence on all operational matters related to Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Know Your Customer (KYC), and sanctions requirements, and support the team in acquiring and applying relevant knowledge.
  • Adhere strictly to the team’s risk profile and operating policies, including those relating to operational losses, escalation procedures, and Securities Services policies.
  • Minimise operational errors and losses through accurate processing, strong controls, and effective oversight.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of quality management systems and other Group or Company initiatives.
  • Perform Key Control Standards Assessments (KCSAs) within the department and ensure no overdue items.
  • Ensure no major adverse findings from internal, external, or quality audits, and drive timely remediation of any issues identified.

Skills And Qualifications

 

  • Diploma or Degree in Banking, Finance, or a related discipline (or equivalent).
  • Preferably with relevant experience in the securities industry and/or Trade Settlement operations.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Proven ability to multi-task and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
