Job Summary
The Product Manager for Structured Products in Malaysia will serve as the dedicated asset class owner, overseeing the comprehensive management and strategic development of structured products within the wealth management portfolio. This pivotal role involves leading revenue optimisation efforts, driving innovative product strategies, and expanding client penetration across various business segments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute revenue management plans to maximise profitability; initiate and champion new business ventures and strategic initiatives focused on market expansion and client acquisition; innovate product offerings to meet evolving client needs; and meticulously manage the product portfolio to balance risk and growth.
- Business Ownership: Assume full responsibility as the business owner for all structured products; enhance client engagement through targeted penetration strategies; lead or contribute to critical projects ensuring alignment with business goals; and ensure timely delivery of product enhancements with a business-focused approach.
- Operational Excellence: Provide expert product advisory services and effectively communicate strategy to frontline teams; oversee client documentation and suitability processes to ensure compliance and client protection; collaborate with operations, IT, and middle office teams to drive process improvements and technology enhancements.
- People and Talent Development: Uphold the highest standards of product quality assurance; simplify client-facing materials to enhance clarity and understanding of risks; minimise complaints through proactive measures; maintain comprehensive and accessible product information; and lead training initiatives to equip frontline staff with thorough knowledge of product features. Additionally, manage ongoing market intelligence and competitive analyses to inform strategic decisions.
We seek a dynamic and results-oriented Product Manager to spearhead our Structured Products asset class for Malaysia. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commercial acumen, deep understanding of investment products, and the capability to foster collaboration across multiple teams including sales, operations, risk, and compliance.
This role demands proactive leadership, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment where strategic thinking and execution excellence are paramount. You will be instrumental in driving product innovations and ensuring the seamless delivery of enhancements that align with both client needs and regulatory requirements.

Skills and Experience
We are looking for candidates who demonstrate a robust understanding of the structured products asset class, encompassing the entire product lifecycle from inception through corporate actions to back-office and custodial operations.
- Deep knowledge of product marketing strategies and experience developing compelling product propositions that resonate with target clients.
- Proven project management capabilities, with a track record of successfully leading product-related initiatives and delivering improvements on time and within scope.
- Familiarity with relevant local and global financial regulations ensuring compliant product design and distribution.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret data, competitive landscapes, and market trends to inform decision-making.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate complex concepts to diverse stakeholders including sales teams, clients, and regulatory bodies.
- Demonstrated ability to lead training sessions and knowledge sharing initiatives to empower frontline teams.
Qualifications
Educational Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree or professional qualification, preferably in Finance, Investments, Commerce, or a related field, although relevant experience will also be considered.
Professional Experience:
- Previous experience in product development or product management, ideally within structured products or treasury-related financial instruments, preferably within a banking context.
- Passion for investment products, personal finance, or wealth management, accompanied by strong market awareness.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work effectively under pressure in dynamic environments.
Communication Skills:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, capable of articulating complex product features clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
