Job Summary

This role is responsible in supporting the Financial Controller in managing day to day accounting operations which including Account Receivable & Payable, Fixed Asset, Treasury Management, Statutory Audit, Corporate Sax, SST, Transfer Pricing matters and obligations.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Payable, Account Receivable & Fixed Asset
•    Managing Finance Operations, ensure smooth operation in Account Receivable and Account Payable. 
•    As a Finance partner for GBS Malaysia for Account Payable, provide guidance to stakeholders on the local tax rules i.e. e-invoice implementation, SST, stamp duty impacted the Sales Service Tax from vendor charges/invoice/agreement.  
•    Advice and resolve queries from GBS MY stakeholders on the invoice rework queries received from Group Chief Financial Office (GCFO) R2P India team to ensure invoice process on time.
•    Oversee the billing processing, ensure billing process within the timeline and work with respective stakeholders to manage aging.
•    Oversee the Fixed Asset management including tracking, monitoring and maintaining company’s physical assets and equipment. 
•    Manage an effective working collaboration with internal GCFO R2P and continuously look for opportunities for operational efficiency migration.

Treasury 
•    Understand on Malaysia's economic developments, including Foreign Exchange (FX), Tariffs, Gross Domestic Product (GDP), Consumer Price Index (CPI), Overnight policy rate (OPR) and understand how it impact on MYR currency and fixed deposits (FD) placement for interest earning.
•    Collaborate with SCB Malaysia Financial Management team to get update on the FX climate and closely monitor the USD/MYR exchange rate for selling USD and converting it to MYR within the bank's processing hours in Malaysia time.
•    Maintain and strengthen relationships with banking partners, negotiating favourable FD and interest-bearing rates to maximize interest earnings.
•    Monitor cash flow closely, diversify fund placements to mitigate risk and optimize interest earnings based on the rates offered by banking partners.
•    Ensure a healthy cash flow liquidity ratio, understand how GBS MY business activity impact on the cashflow.
•    Closely monitor financial numbers, forecast profit after tax (PAT) for dividend proposal to the group and plan for the proposal dividend during corporate plan.
•    Manage banking partner services, conduct performance reviews with stakeholders, including Country HR for payroll processing.
•    Address any arising issues or queries immediately such as any interruptions of payment processing by the bank and Bank Negara Malaysia. i.e. provide supporting on Bank Negara's requirements.
•    Work closely with banking partner to prepare and submit bank documents with requiring in wet ink signatures.

People & Talent 
•    Lead and supervise the team to meet its performance objectives and develop them for wider roles and responsibilities.
•    Proactive and effective stakeholders’ engagement to drive strong financial control, and support best commercial practices in the Company.

 

Risk Management
•    Assist the Chief Financial Officer, Finance Controller, and the Unit Operation Risk Manager in identifying and managing key risk areas; ensure compliance and improve internal controls and financial processes for the Company. This includes building management and operational control awareness within Country Finance team and ensure applicable policies and procedures are documented and embedded in operating manuals and instructions

•    Proven experience in organising, planning, and executing activities from conceptualisation through implementation across multiple internal and external reporting and organisational lines, including proven ability to adjust plans to meet changing needs and requirements.
•    Good eye for detail and with a strong focus on controls and compliance to policies and procedures.
•    Strong business and commercial acumen, with thought leadership, natural intellectual curiosity, ability to think both strategically and analytically, and with a digital mindset.
•    Ability to problem solve and manage complex situations, identifying solutions that support the business.

Qualifications

•    Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in accountancy /finance ideally with Professional Accounting  qualification of CMA/CPA/ACCA/MBA
•    Minimum 10 – 15 years of working experience within Finance functions with exposure to Finance Operations.
•    Experience in financial services industry will be added advantage.
•    Advanced excel and PowerPoint skills.
•    Good knowledge in financial systems e.g.: MS office, SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft etc
•    Project management.
•    Experience in MNC’s preferred.
•    Performed variance analysis in previous roles.
•    Strong people skills/soft skills.
•    Experience in managing stakeholders at a senior leadership level.
