Job Summary

The Senior Manager, Wealth Retail Banking (WRB) Business Finance will be responsible for delivering proactive and insightful financial analysis to support SME and product performance, highlighting both key opportunities and early warning signals. The role provides timely and accurate management information, including monthly performance tracking and variance analysis against budget and outlook, to guide business decisions. This position also drives value-added analysis on business drivers, segment performance, and product trends, while actively supporting budgeting, forecasting, and the identification of risks to business plans. In addition, the Senior Manager will play a key role in the development and enhancement of financial market-related systems, ensuring accurate representation of funding costs, margins, and profitability. The incumbent will collaborate closely with business teams on financial analysis, and investment activities to support growth initiatives, and will drive RWA and loan impairment performance management by partnering with Risk and business teams to optimize capital efficiency.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Head of WRB Business Finance and key WRB business stakeholders to support strategic priorities across the business, including portfolio growth, profitability.
  • Review SME and product performance, providing forward looking insights, and highlighting opportunities and early warning signals.
  • Deliver timely and accurate management information (MI), including monthly financial performance reporting, variance analysis against budget and outlook and actionable insights to support business decision-making.
  • Support business planning, budgeting, forecasting and strategic initiatives by providing financial analysis, challenging business assumptions, and ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Support FP&A activities across the WRB portfolio, including budgeting, forecasting, performance reporting, trend analysis and management presentations to support business decision-making.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 12 years relevant experience in finance at a leading global financial services firm, preferably banking. 
  • Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CMA, ICAEW or equivalent professional qualification preferred, with a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related discipline; MBA is an added advantage.
  • Strong understanding of Wealth and Retail Banking (WRB), SME or consumer banking products and business drivers will be an advantage.
  • Ability to design/ prepare senior level financial presentations/ dashboards.
  • Demonstrated track record of leading and managing broad processes, while challenging the status quo and embracing the spirit of transformation. 
  • Strong understanding of P&L, balance sheet, and returns of financial products.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders across business, products, risk and finance functions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively manage varied stakeholders and global teams within finance and business. 
  • Ability to navigate complex situations and ambiguity.
