Job Description: 

Job Summary

This role serves as a dedicated support to Saadiq Finance, responsible for delivering timely and accurate financial performance management and reporting to management and stakeholders, and supporting strategic initiatives as assigned by the People Leader.

This role reports to Director, Strategy & Planning, Standard Chartered Saadiq Berhad.

Key Responsibilities

•    Prepare and analyse monthly management reporting and Board papers; including collaboration with Country and Group business finance colleagues to provide quality management information to senior management.
•    Support other key finance deliverables - ICAAP, BNM stress testing, cost Commentaries for Financial Reporting.
•    Support delivery of financial and regulatory returns to Country Finance team and various stakeholders.
•    Prepare monthly PSIA report and daily operation & monitoring of PSIA funding.
•    Daily monitoring of Intragroup SCEL.
•    Support other strategy initiatives as assigned People Leader.
•    Embed the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct and ensure compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct

Strategy
•    Provide input to develop and execute Saadiq business strategy.
•    Understand how changes in internal factors (such as changes in credit appetite/FTP, etc.) and external factors (e.g. regulatory changes, macro-economic factors) affect the business performance, shape and proactively manage the impact of changes to improve ROE.

Business
•    Develop and provide on-going performance measurement and strategic decision-making support for the Management Team/senior leaders/ assigned country/group teams to ensure robust business plans.
•    Manage data and information support of key strategic business plans, cost efficiency targets and other key initiatives and ensure valuable insights into the drivers of business performance and costs.
•    Monitor and evaluate the performance, progress and implementation of these key business initiatives, highlight risks, opportunities and actions needed.
•    Provide a consolidated picture of the managed business budgets, drive budget accountability via use of balanced scorecards and review and challenge trends.
•    Produce timely management reporting, business performance statistics, and insightful analysis to facilitate business in monitoring performance & planning.

Processes
•    Continuously review assigned processes, systems and data, develop and drive improvements and
leverage all available applications to deliver quality MIS and business analytics.

People & Talent
•    Proactively dealing with related stakeholders to ensure effective communication.

Risk Management
•    Review and validate identified outliers prior to submission of reports to stakeholders to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
•    Support Country Treasury team by providing relevant data for month-end LCR simulation.

Regulatory & Business Conduct
•    Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct. 
•    Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. Qualifications

•    Education - Bachelor’s degree / Master in Banking and Finance / Accounting or related qualification.
•    Training - Minimum of 8+ years’ experience in banking field, with proven track record in project/ initiative implementation, business analyst skills and generally getting things done with flexibility to adapt.
•    Languages - English/ Malay/ Chinese
