Job Summary

We are seeking a high calibre Associate Director, Mobile Capabilities to drive the development and commercialization of our revamped Mobile capabilities within the Wealth & Retail Banking business segment, with a primary focus on spread-heading the conversational AI transformation on the SC Mobile App alongside securing the necessary regulatory and governance approval.


This role will be responsible for building and scaling a secure, compliant, and commercially viable conversational AI experience across various sections of SC Mobile App. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in GenAI application in Mobile Banking, conversational banking & chatbot experience, with a strong track record of execution, and the ability to navigate regulatory, risk, and operational complexity in a highly regulated banking environment.

Key Responsibilities

Conversational Banking Product Development
•    Facilitate and drive the Bank’s agenda in deploying cutting edge mobile banking experience assisted with generative AI or conversational banking capabilities.
•    Lead the end-to-end launch of various Mobile Banking capabilities for retail customers. 
•    Collaborate with payments, deposits, FX, and cross-border teams to integrate stablecoin capabilities into existing platforms.
•    We expect the candidate possessing at least 8-10 years of experience from large-scale financial institutions or international banks with hands-on experience in mobile banking development, conversational AI or cutting edge chatbot experience. 

Regulatory & Risk Management
•    Ensure full compliance with HKMA and other applicable regulatory requirements related to TME1, technology risk and Generative AI Sandbox initiatives.
•    Work closely with Compliance, Legal, Risk, and AML teams to establish robust governance frameworks.
•    Develop policies covering custody, transaction monitoring, market risk, operational risk, and cyber security in digital asset operations.

Leadership & Stakeholder Management
•    With track record as a strong individual contributor whilst demonstrating leadership potential to drive cross-functional team collaboration.
•    Drive cross-functional alignment across Technology, Operations, Risk, Compliance, Treasury, and Retail Product teams.
•    Present business cases and strategic updates to senior management and executive committees.

Regulatory & Business Conduct
•    Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct. 
•    Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
•    Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
