Job Summary

 

This Associate Director/Director position of Hong Kong Bancassurance team will specialised in General Insurance and Health Insurance. The role involves leading partnership negotiations, business development initiatives, and product due diligence, as well as overseeing comprehensive process management, including risk clearance, to achieve sales growth across both product lines.

 

Key Responsibilities

Partnership Management

    • Lead end-to-end management of bancassurance partnerships for General Insurance and International Health Medical Insurance, representing the bancassurance business in partner discussions 
    • Build and deepen strategic relationships with partners through joint business planning, regular performance reviews, and structured governance forums
    • Negotiate and manage commercial terms, sales incentives, and service levels to optimise mutual value

Business Development

    • Develop and execute business development strategies to drive portfolio growth.
    • Identify and prioritise new growth opportunities (segments, products, and channels) through market, competitor, and portfolio analysis, translating insights into actionable plans.
    • Drive delivery of sales and marketing initiatives with internal distribution and digital teams, tracking KPIs and implementing corrective actions to achieve sales and revenue targets.

Product Due Diligence

    • Lead end-to-end product due diligence for General Insurance and Health Insurance.
    • Assess complex product requirements, features, and structures to ensure suitability and competitiveness.
    • Work closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to validate product design, competitive analysis and implementation.

Skills and Experience

  • University degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, or related fields is required. 
  • Experienced in originating and executing sales and marketing initiatives using data and market insights to deliver measurable sales uplift and improved channel productivity.
  • Extensive experience in insurance, ideally within General Insurance and/or Health/Medical Insurance.
  • Strong track record managing complex product requirements and due diligence processes.
  • Proven experience in process management and risk mitigation in a regulated environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, including direct people management.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic local market environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in both English and Chinese is required. 

Preferred Skills

  • Solid understanding of bancassurance distribution models on GI and Health Insurance.
  • Self-motivated and committed to achieving strong sales outcomes
  • Ability to influence and drive outcomes across cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
