Title: Director, Strategic Planning and Analysis

Director, Strategic Planning and Analysis
Director, Strategic Planning and Analysis would manage financial performance of Hong Kong Wealth and Retail Banking business, with the focus on Wealth Solution across all segments. This will include planning, performance management, segment analytics on wealth product penetration and providing advisory to relevant stakeholders to track and improve Wealth Solution performance and to achieve agreed medium and long term targets.
Key Responsibilities
• Cover managing financial performance and underlying drivers of growth with the focus on Wealth Solutions across Private and Retail Banking
• Cover tracking, reporting and analysing various aspects for segment performance globally as defined below in detail.
• Partner with Business Heads Regional Finance Heads and Group Finance Teams in implementation of agreed strategy across markets
• Actively report, review and analyse progress against set strategic targets.
• Provide advice with stakeholders on financial performance, profitability, returns and highlighting areas of opportunity and early warnings of the challenges ahead
• Develop and implement financial and non-financial value drivers and regular measurement & analysis
• Conduct deep dives such as Wealth penetration across all segments to identify opportunities to improve income and returns; utilise these insights to modify or formulate new strategies with business stakeholders and finance partners
• Lead strategic multiyear planning process aligned with strategic priorities
• Partner with business and finance teams in markets to execute plans to improve market share including tactical and strategic actions
• Periodically review performance against competitors and analyse relative strength and opportunity
Skills and Experience
• At least 10 years relevant experience in finance at a leading global financial services firm, preferably banking.
• Track record of business partnering and ability to influence and effectively challenge stakeholders
• Strong understanding and/ or previous experience in consumer banking, preferable wealth management and/or Private Banking
• Proven problem solver using quantitative techniques, strong analytical skills with ability to develop proof of concept frameworks and business cases
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively manage varied stakeholders and global teams within finance and business.
Qualifications
• Qualified Accountant i.e., CPA, CMA, ACCA or equivalent, or MBA (Finance) or other relevant qualification is preferred
