Title: Manager, Agency Collection

JOB SUMMARY
- This role is responsible to oversee Agency Management area for Retail and Business Banking area
RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy
- To add value to strategic direction, planning and performance of the Retail Banking.
- Develop and execute new initiatives to achieve collections and recoveries target setting
- Support the reduction of collection operation costs through improvement in efficiency and effectiveness of collection process and strategies
Business
- To ensure effective utilization of resources with objectives of minimizing credit losses, maximizing recovery in Retail and Business Banking area
- Ensure all collection policies and procedures comply with Group Policies and Standards. Assure proper and updated documentation of all in-country policies and procedures are maintained at all times
- Assist manager to design collection strategies and initiatives in order to manage an acceptable level of credit loss and maximize recovery return through agency assignment and/or legal proceedings
Processes
- Manage external Debt Collection Agencies to develop high performance with effective control
- Analyze agency productivity and manage agencies’ performance, able to make proper judgment and decision
- To ensure effective utilization of resources with objectives of minimizing credit losses, maximizing recovery and manage costs
- Accountable for satisfactory closure of issues/gaps arising from Internal Audits, peer reviews, external vendor audits and regulatory reviews
- Work on Third Party Risk Management Standard for outsourcing arrangement, e.g. prepare annual risk assessment, liaise with different stakeholders like Compliance, Legal, SCM, BCP team, Third Party Security Team, etc., prepare meeting deck and minutes for regular performance review meeting
- Oversee various recovery channels and work with internal stakeholders
People & Talent
- Strengthen the team capacity and enhancement engagement with people
- Enhance communication within and among team across Retail Risk Organizations as well as other internal stakeholders
Risk Management
- Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct
- Take responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct
- Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
- To ensure good control mechanisms are in place and to ensure satisfactory audit clearance
- To support the regular submission for CST, KCI, etc
Governance
- Ensure all collection policies and procedures comply with Group Policies and Standards. Assure proper and updated documentation of all in-country policies and procedures are maintained at all times
- Assist manager to ensure good control mechanisms are in place and to ensure satisfactory audit clearance and operational assurance
- Achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank’s Conduct Principals: Dos and Don’ts, Group Code of Conduct, Treat Customer Fairly Principal and Fraud Risk Management Framework
Regulatory & Business Conduct
