The Manager, Fund Accounting role at Standard Chartered is a pivotal position responsible for partnering across Fiduciary and Fund Services product management to shape and execute functional and strategic initiatives. Key Responsibilities
The Manager's responsibilities will encompass comprehensive oversight of fund administration activities, including launching new funds, managing fund transfers and terminations, as well as documentation and service level agreement preparations in strict accordance with Securities Services and Fund Services operational guidelines.
- Ensure robust execution of new business initiatives, coordinating across sales, implementation, and operational teams to uphold best practices.
- Conduct client visits and thorough due diligence exercises to deepen understanding of client propositions and drive enhancements in service quality.
- Collaborate closely with Country teams and Financial Markets sales to align service delivery with growth targets and product strategies.
- Monitor client service levels and operational processes across countries to guarantee consistent, high-quality service and compliance with policies.
- Serve as an escalation point for operational issues, devising and implementing effective remedial actions promptly.
- Partner with Fiduciary & Fund Services country heads to optimize operational platforms, bolster automation initiatives, and develop highly skilled, versatile operational staff.
- Support group-wide and corporate reporting requirements with precision and timeliness.
- Manage risk, audit, and compliance-related issues proactively, ensuring clear documentation, timely actions, and closure of outstanding items.
- Lead change management adherence within country operations and communicate significant operational developments to global management.
- Foster a collaborative culture bridging country operations and Global Business Services hubs, reinforcing the 'One Bank' ethos by connecting relevant sales and support functions.
- Manage full client accounting books including valuation, ledgers, cash and investment records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with standards.
- Oversee report structuring and system integration activities, contributing to system roll-outs and user acceptance testing efficiently.
Skills and Experience
- Holds a relevant degree with a minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in fund administration and/or Securities Services, with substantial exposure to control functions, audit, and operations within regulated financial environments.
- Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of the financial services or asset management sectors, including regulatory landscapes and internal banking policies.
- Possesses a strong understanding of Fiduciary and Fund Services workflows along with associated market and operational risks.
- Exhibits the ability to assimilate new concepts, products, and areas rapidly to remain adaptive in a fast-evolving market.
- Has an insightful grasp of the firm's broader business strategies, models, and competitive environment.
- Experienced in orchestrating large-scale change programs and continuous improvement initiatives with emphasis on disciplined project management and transparency.
- Skilled in developing, managing, and refining strategic documentation and business planning materials.
