Job Summary

The key objective of this role is to lead and manage various open banking & API initiatives for the bank under the HKMA Open API framework and beyond. This role will work closely with various internal stakeholder such as Group digital hive and country product / segment teams, plus external partners in the ecosystem to drive open banking partnership and adoption. This candidate will be expected to be having strong business and technical understanding on local and global market trends in the Open Banking & API space.

 

On top of open banking responsibilities, this role is expected to (1) assist the line manager to lead and drive Country or Group initiated other digital new rollouts on the country implementation; (2) continuously identify new opportunities with the broader fintech ecosystem in response to the customers and business expectation, ultimately to maximize business opportunities, and create a world-class digital experience for our customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee open banking & API initiatives for the bank
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders such as internal Product & Segment teams plus external fintech ecosystem to explore new business opportunities to drive open banking adoption
  • Collaborate with Group digital hives to drive implementation of best-in-class digital banking experience
  • Establish robust tracking to monitor business performance, customer response, and fine tune the implementation strategy along the way with internal & external stakeholders
  • Work closely with the internal risk & control functions to ensure proper technology and product governance are met with highest standard
  • Keep abreast of the latest local and global regulatory requirements and identify opportunities to improve the process and workflows.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree or above
  • At least 5 years of work experience, with solid track record in sizable retail banks, insurance companies or fintech companies.
  • Solid experience to manage project timeline effectively and closely work with agile squads and tribes
  • Agility to collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders across country and group, various risk & control functions to ensure project roll-out smoothly and on target.
  • Proven track record on the launch of new digital banking initiatives
  • Experience and knowledge in open banking / API integration with digital platform a clear advantage
  • Proficiency in Cantonese, Traditional Chinese, and English
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to drive things through in a complex / matrixed organization
