Job Description: 

Job Summary

The Group has a low risk tolerance from any Health, Safety and Security (HS&S) incident which could harm any person in the workplace. The Group Safety & Security Policy defines the Group’s approach to S&S risk. S&S risk is the potential for loss resulting from an unsafe workplace and/or an unsafe practice within the workplace.

The Security Manager is accountable to the Security Manager Kenya & Africa and Country Head of CRES Nigeria  to deliver and implement the security component of the Group Safety & Security Policy to ensure  that the bank meets both the internal and National legal requirements.

Business
•    Provide proactive advice and support to the Country Management Team on all aspects of security management.
•    Ensure efficient delivery of the requirements outlined within the MSA/LSA/Order Form in particular reference to security service.
•    Fulfil the requirements of the Country Security Manager as outlined in Group Security Operating Standards (GSOS). To recommend areas where it is necessary the exceed the requirements of GSOS to address country specific threats faced by the Bank to an acceptable level of risk.
•    Ensure the application of Global Security Process 1(GSP 1), Global Security Process 2 (GSP 2) & Global Security Process 3 (GSP 3) at a country level.
•    Manage the security control room function and facilitate the retrieval access control and CCTV data to support reports and investigations in accordance with the relevant procedures.
•    Coordinate the commissioning and acceptance of access control, CCTV and alarms systems.
•    Coordinate with the facilities management team to develop a life cycle replacement (LCR) and planned preventive maintenance (PPM) schedule for all locations and establish the required budgets.
•    Develop the country security budget request covering, regulatory/GSOS compliance, risk appropriate enhancements etc. Actively identify opportunities for cost savings through simplification, digitalisation and automation 
•    Direct or provide input to incident investigations, ensuring any corrective action and required associated paperwork is completed within an appropriate timeframe.

Key Responsibilities

•    Support the Health & Safety (H&S) Manager is the delivery of Groups Safety & Security campaigns and initiatives. 
•    Act a Cyber Security champion to assist in the implementation of the Cyber Security programme.
•    Fulfil the reporting requirements of the security Master Service Agreement (MSA)/ Group Security Operating Standard (GSOS).
•    Identify and communicate areas of improvement and best practice, to the Head of CRES/Country Management Team (CMT).
•    Coordinating account communication on system updates, legislation changes and/or other business updates.
•    Any other reports required for support the Group Corporate Real Estate & Services (CRES) Agenda.

Risk Management
•    To provide a safe working environment for the Bank staff, clients and visitors, the security manager is required to monitor the security related risks faced by the Bank within the country and take proactive measures to reduce risk and minimise loss and communicate incidents to senior management and provide them with professional advice on all aspects of security.
•    Provide advice and support to relevant crisis management and business resilience teams.
•    Maintain Corporate Real Estate & Services (CRES) function-dispensation/exemption management if security arrangements do not meet the requirements of the Bank standards.
•    Facilitate to collection of data for control sample testing (CSTs) and support Group Safety and Security, Group CRES and Group Internal Audit where required.

Governance
•    Develop and maintain a security laws and obligations register and ensure that the Bank meets them and evidence compliance with all local regulatory requirements.

Regulatory & Business Conduct
•    Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group Code of Conduct & Ethics. 
•    Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, the Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
•    Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

Education:    Bachelor’s degree
Training:        Experience – Security senior position 10+ years
