Title: Officer Domestic Payments

Job Summary
• To assist Domestic Payments with salary and other Payment activities.
• Conduct pre-processing checks on transactions and post transactions entries in line with agreed operational and service standards.
• Ensure “end to end” processing of Book Transfer, NEFT Inflows and other domestic transactions on the various platforms. Investigation of entries relating to domestic payments. Ensure delivery of quality service.
• Support processing and handling of government collection transactions.
Key Responsibilities
NGN Transfers Inward and Outward
• Raise and post all entries relating to Domestic Payment transactions and ensure appropriate approvals and authorisation for all posted entries.
• Received and record manual instruction.
• Conduct pre-processing checks ensuring compliance with operational procedures and regulatory controls.
• Ensure all transactions are processed in a manner which meets agreed Service Level Agreement (SLA) with the Business.
• Process outward NEFT transaction as per approved DOI.
• Process returned NEFT transaction from clearing as per approved DOI.
• Process inward NEFT transaction as per approved DOI.
• Process unapplied NEFT transaction from clearing as per approved DOI.
• Ensure statistics of all Outward and Inward NEFT is maintained.
• Collate all outward NEFT transfers for timely advise to Global Market (GM) and clearing for transmission.
• Process all Remita inflow received as per DOI.
• Process Remote cheques received from client via H2H.
• Investigate payment entries and close open items.
Others
• Identify and advise Domestic Payments Manager of any risk issue.
• Respond promptly to all Domestic Payments inquiries and ensure log of customer complaints and errors are maintained.
• Provide input/ideas/feedback to make improvements to processes and procedures within the unit.
• Act as back up for Collections Officer.
• Performing other duties as may be assigned by Domestic Payments Manager
• Produce timely and accurate MIS for reporting purposes with respect to inward and outward NEFT, CBN inflows, book transfers and posted entries.
• Ensure register for incoming customer instruction and held over are maintained.
• Track and record customers complaints and errors for monthly KPI and risk management purposes.
