Job Description: 

Job Summary

•    As a Cloud Engineer with a strong DevOps background, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable cloud infrastructure across multiple cloud platforms. You will work closely with development teams, platform engineers, and infrastructure architects to build and optimize cloud-native solutions, automate deployment pipelines, and ensure high availability and security of cloud services.

•    Your ultimate aim will be the deployment, optimization, and long-term stability of cloud infrastructure and DevOps pipelines while ensuring compliance with security standards, cost optimization, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Cloud Infrastructure & Architecture
•    Design and implement cloud infrastructure - Architect and deploy scalable, resilient, and secure cloud solutions on AWS, Azure (plus), and/or Google Cloud Platform
•    Infrastructure as Code (IaC) - Develop and maintain infrastructure using Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM templates (plus), or similar tools
•    Cloud migration and modernization - Lead migration of on-premises applications to cloud platforms and modernize legacy systems to cloud-native architectures
•    Multi-cloud and hybrid cloud solutions - Design and implement solutions across multiple cloud providers and integrate with on-premises infrastructure; OCP (OpenShift Container Platform) private cloud experience is a plus
•    Cost optimization - Monitor cloud spending, implement cost-saving measures, and optimize resource utilization across cloud environments
DevOps & CI/CD
•    Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines - Design, implement, and optimize continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps (plus), GitHub Actions, or similar tools
•    Automation and orchestration - Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and deployment processes using tools like Ansible, Puppet, Chef, or Salt
•    Containerization and orchestration - Deploy and manage containerized applications using Docker, Kubernetes (plus), ECS, AKS, GKE, or OCP/OpenShift (plus)
•    GitOps practices - Implement GitOps workflows for infrastructure and application deployment using ArgoCD, Flux, or similar tools
•    Release management - Coordinate and manage software releases, deployments, and rollbacks across multiple environments
Monitoring, Observability & Performance
•    Implement monitoring and alerting - Set up comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting systems using Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, or Datadog
•    Performance optimization - Analyze system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations for improved reliability and efficiency
•    Incident response and troubleshooting - Respond to production incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures
•    SRE practices - Implement Site Reliability Engineering practices including SLIs, SLOs, SLAs, and error budgets

Security & Compliance
•    Cloud security implementation - Implement security best practices including IAM policies, network security groups, encryption, secrets management, and security scanning
•    Compliance and governance - Ensure cloud infrastructure complies with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and organizational policies
•    Security automation - Implement automated security scanning, vulnerability assessments, and compliance checks in CI/CD pipelines
•    Disaster recovery and backup - Design and implement disaster recovery strategies, backup solutions, and business continuity plans
Collaboration & Communication
•    Cross-functional collaboration - Work closely with development teams, security teams, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions
•    Documentation - Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for cloud infrastructure, deployment processes, runbooks, and best practices
•    Knowledge sharing - Conduct training sessions, create documentation, and share DevOps and cloud best practices across teams
•    Technical leadership - Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and team members
Strategy
•    Cloud strategy development - Support organization's cloud strategy, roadmap, and adoption initiatives
•    Technology evaluation - Research and evaluate emerging cloud technologies, tools, and services
•    AI-driven automation - Explore and implement AI agents and LLM-based solutions for cloud automation, infrastructure optimization, and intelligent operations (plus)
•    Continuous improvement - Drive continuous improvement in cloud infrastructure, DevOps practices, and operational processes
•    Innovation and R&D - Experiment with new technologies and implement proof-of-concepts for innovative solutions

Business
•    Deliver business value - Focus on delivering solutions that drive business outcomes and operational efficiency
•    Project execution - Lead and contribute to cloud and infrastructure projects from planning through implementation
•    Stakeholder management - Communicate effectively with stakeholders about project status, technical challenges, and solutions
•    Agile practices - Work within agile frameworks, participate in sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives
Processes
•    Establish DevOps processes - Define and implement DevOps processes, standards, and best practices across the organization
•    Change management - Manage infrastructure changes following established change management procedures
•    Quality assurance - Implement testing strategies for infrastructure code including unit tests, integration tests, and end-to-end tests
•    SDLC compliance - Ensure all deployments and infrastructure changes comply with Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) requirements
People & Talent
•    Work on upskilling of technical expertise of the Engineers to enable them to become more efficient in agentic tools used day-to-day. 
•    Mentoring and training the squad on technical skills to become proficient at developing AI tools,, services and pipelines. 
Risk Management
•    Identify and mitigate risks - Proactively identify technical risks, security vulnerabilities, and operational issues
•    High availability design - Design and implement highly available and fault-tolerant systems
•    Capacity planning - Perform capacity planning and scaling strategies to meet business demands

Governance
•    Support the remediation of  tech compliance (ESDLC) requirements through the delivery lifecycle (design reviews, security reviews, code reviews, SAT, OAT, etc.) with support from HTL(Hive Tech Lead) / PO / CPO (Chief Product Owner)

Qualifications

•    Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
•    Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts and architectures (AWS, Azure, GCP).
•    Proficiency in scripting and programming languages such as Python, Bash, PowerShell, or Go.
•    Expert knowledge of DevOps pipeline design, implementation, and optimization.
•    Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM Templates).
•    Experience with containerization technologies (Docker) and orchestration platforms (Kubernetes, OpenShift/OCP).
•    Deep understanding of CI/CD tools and practices (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions).
•    Experience with configuration management and automation tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
•    Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix system administration and Windows Server environments.
•    Excellent understanding of networking concepts (VPC, subnets, load balancers, DNS, firewalls).
•    Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, CloudWatch, Azure Monitor).
•    Strong analytical skills and attention to detail to design and optimize cloud infrastructure.
