Job Description: 

Job Summary

  • The Structured Trade Solutions (STS) team  is a team within the TB Trade and Working Capital, which is responsible for origination and execution of structured trade finance solutions to meet our client needs, across the Corporate and FI segments. Consulting with clients, industry thought leadership and specialist knowledge of solutions is the way the team members drive origination and then lead with structuring and negotiation of solutions. This team is also the industry team for Trade and Working capital and focusses on revenue growth in the specified sectors across flow and bespoke client needs
  • As a lead for ASEAN you are responsible for delivering the revenue budget for your assigned region across all sectors.
  • As an industry lead you will be responsible to drive the strategy and revenue in Trade and Working Capital of the Industrials sector for ASEAN. Ensuring articulation of the strategy for the sectors, commercialisation through thought leadership is a key. Ensure product solutions are relevant for the sector and drive replication to deliver growth. The role will connect with relevant senior levels at the client organisations and will help SC retain and grow wallet share.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy

  • Drive visibility and represent the STS business with stakeholders in ASEAN and grow the franchise in the region
  • Responsible for delivering growth/ budget of the region and also the industry sector . The region should drive an annual revenue of USD [ ] M from bespoke deals
  • Ensure the portfolio returns and credit quality is managed appropriately.
  • As a core and senior member of the team, contribute actively to the global STS and industry strategy
  • As a key member of the relevant regional management team, contribute to increase the franchise of Trade & working capital and TB in the region.
  • Develop knowledge on the industry (Characteristics, regional nuances, key players) and Drive thematic Industry discussions with clients
  • Originate and structure bespoke/big ticket transactions
  • Replicate relevant transactions within the industry and across industries
  • Create a uniform identity and experience for our clients in the industry and account for the regional nuances.

 

Business
Solutions Development & Delivery
•    Engage with Clients to understand how they operate, their pain points, strategic directions and tactical needs.
•    Represent STS with key senior stakeholders in the region and communicate effectively to grow the business.
•    Work with our coverage teams including sales managers in TB to originate and drive income opportunities.  
o    Based on the broader understanding of industry and solution, identify opportunities or situations within an industry or client. 
o    Replicate solutions for clients within the industry sectors globally
•    Engage consultatively to create optionality and solutions for clients and convert them into successful deals which help solve for client need.
•    Provide inputs into the product managers on key requirements to be developed or deviations which are BAU and don’t need exception approvals
•    Develop and drive Trade and Working Capital solutions for the sector

Financial Management – Product P/L Management
•    Deliver budget, through active management of:
o    Revenue (existing and new revenue streams) [FY 2026 $  M]
o    No of deals led
o    Growth of industry sector revenues in the region
o    No of proactive client pitches
o    Utilisation on deals 
o    Replication of solutions across clients in the sector [ nos]
o    Returns (i.e. product profitability) [ROE / RORWA] at a deal or client level.

People & Talent 
•    The transactors in the team are specialised and has wide experience. You should have skills to mentor and build effective teams 
•    Demonstrate leadership in the team by communicating the client opportunity and the solutions that can meet these and keeping the STS profile with high recall in the regional coverage and TB management teams. 
•    Work effectively with the GB and FM teams to provide embedded solutions and cross sell. 
•    Governance of the team  in ASEAN and  driving efficiency for the organisation and make budget decisions for the relevant business areas.
•    Represent the team to the regional stakeholders

Risk Management
•    To be able to articulate to the client, risk and other relevant teams on how a proposed solutions meets client needs, enable it to be more efficient, enable it to grow and scale its business, mitigate its risks and how it helps in a wider investor participation for a financing where required. 
•    Has comprehensive or wide knowledge of legal aspects linked to an instrument, debt, security in the relevant jurisdictions; local regulations and initiatives of local industry bodies to stay ahead of the regulatory change agenda and/or how it affects the solutions.
•    Takes the initiative regarding regulatory, reputational, and ethical matters by providing proactive advice to clients and sales teams
•    Ensures adherence with the highest standards of ethics, and compliance with relevant policies, processes and regulations
•    Ensure appropriate inputs are incorporated in  credit memo / Term sheet / Pre-Screening, etc 
•    Actively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk and compliance matters for the region and delivery mechanisms relevant for the industry globally, in a timely manner

Governance 
•    Demonstrate accountability for all deal related risks for solutions executed for by ensuring the right governance standards are applied and provides guidance even when there is ambiguity 
•    Identifies and mitigates deal level operational, credit, regulatory, legal, fraud and risks in the processes via a business Conduct lens.
•    Ensures the relevant approvals (including compliance with relevant deal review guidelines) for a transaction or client engagement are sought and can be produced for an audit review at any point in time 
•    Takes the lead to ensure compliance, AML and FCC risk and applies appropriate risk mitigation processes

•    Coverage leads of the countries in the region, Industry leads in client coverage, Global Product heads in Trade and Working capital/Regional Sales heads of TB/ Global Industry leads, Relationship managers and TB sales teams and their country and regional heads, Trade/Cash Product Cluster Head, CCO/SCO Risk, Heads of Legal and CFCC

Our Ideal Candidate

  • Core Credit and Risk Management Certification completed or to be completed within 12 months of joining the team.
  • 12+ years of total years of experience in Banking
  • Have worked across multiple markets in ASEAN and South Asia and with large and sophisticated clients
  • Have built business franchise and demonstrated leadership engagement at senior levels
  • Have led or delivered complex/bespoke transactions for at least  5-10 years with good experience and delivering complex solutions (including syndicated deals, big distributor finance and receivables programs and structured trade finance transactions) and demonstrate industry and transactional leadership skills.
  • Understands nuances of working with third party platforms/fintechs, structures and risks involved
  • Have worked on and/or managed product solutions like prepayments, BBTL, securitisation, receivables purchase and supplier finance
  • Strong risk analysis skills
  •  Articulation and brevity while knowing the details is a key
  • Multi-cultural and geography experience is a positive
