Job Description: 

Job Summary

Financial Markets Middle Office was set up in 2016 to deliver first class trade support, business enablement and accurate / timely trade representation in order to meet obligations to clients, counterparties and regulators. We are product and process subject matter experts aligned to the Global Financial Markets business providing Follow The Sun support, a continuous improvement mindset and industry connectivity.
•    Trade capture and coordination for loans
•    Closing of LMA and LSTA loan trades
•    Manage workflows via Clearpar/Markit/Loan IQ
•    Drafting of Loan Trade settlement documentation – Trade Confirmations, Transfer Documents, Pricing Letters (amongst others) for paper trades
•    Review of underlying credit documentation to ensure accurate assignment of debt
•    Liaise with our business partners, counterparties and legal counsels in a professional manner and take the lead role where required
•    Manage and coordinate all aspects of trade settlements and be aware of the nuances of transferring inventory under various governing laws
•    Monitoring/tracking/reporting of all trades using appropriate workflow tools
•    Identifying and escalating issues to traders, in-house legal and compliance teams as well as management
•    Drive continuous improvement and innovate on Secondary Loan Closing processes, including partnering with Technology to deliver transformation
•    Understanding and manage query remediation and other day-to-day processing, ensuring timely escalation, in order to minimise risk.
•    New business enablement and solutions, partner to deliver strategic initiatives and drive Operational readiness.
•    Operations representation for external/internal and regulator scheduled audits, ensuring Audit points are addressed within timelines.
•    Be up to date and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
•    Adherence to Ops Risk Framework standards of implementation and process management.
•    Periodic review of DOI, process note, daily check-list to ensure complete and accurate recording of process procedure.

•    Loan Closing
•    LoanIQ Processing

Qualifications

•    3+ years of Secondary Loan Closing experience across LMA and LSTA markets
•    Closing trades via both ClearPar trade settlement platform as well as paper trades
•    Good understanding of the LMA and LSTA Standard Terms and Conditions
•    Understanding of common market practices and requirements across jurisdictions to settle trades.
•    A good working knowledge of Legal & Tax standards/practices that are commonplace in the Market, such as the understanding of (i) Novation vs Assignment (ii) WHT (iii) Transfer.
•    Proficient in Excel (pivot tables, lookups and basic VBA an advantage).

 

Technical skills
•    Vanilla Credit products knowledge – Loans - Required
•    Structured Credit products knowledge – Loan TRS/ TRCLI - Required
•    System knowledge – Loan IQ, ClearPar, Murex - Preferred

Recruitment Assessments

Expected annual base pay range for the role is 99,600 USD to  149,400 USD. The final offer will be determined on an individualised basis using a number of variables, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience and education, internal relativity, and specific work location. At Standard Chartered Bank, Base pay is only part of the total compensation package.
