Job Summary
As an Associate in Client Analytics at Standard Chartered, you will play a pivotal front office role within our Sales and Structuring teams. This position requires you to collaborate closely with Sales, Trading, and Structuring experts to deliver bespoke, strategic analytics that empower clients to effectively identify, analyse, and manage risks across their businesses. Your work will primarily focus on clients across Europe and the Americas, with opportunities to contribute to global initiatives.
The role is integral to expanding our analytics capabilities, leveraging deep technical expertise alongside polished communication skills to present complex data and risk management solutions in a clear, accessible way. You will be instrumental in developing innovative analysis tools and solutions across FX, Rates, and Commodities, supporting cross-asset strategies that address client needs and enhance their financial decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
- Continue the establishment and expansion of Client Analytics offerings tailored for Financial Institution clients primarily in Europe and the Americas, while integrating these services into our comprehensive Markets Sales and Structuring frameworks.
- Drive business growth by supporting corporate, investor, and banking clients across asset classes, ensuring consistent replication of strategies across various regions.
- Serve as a primary contact for in-depth balance sheet, asset and liability management, and portfolio analytics that facilitate strategic business origination and advisory services.
- Exhibit exemplary communication and interpersonal skills to present analytical findings and strategic recommendations effectively during client engagements and cross-functional team collaborations.
- Collaborate intensively with Sales, Structuring, Trading, and Research teams to design and deliver innovative cross-asset, macroeconomic analytics aimed at expanding the bank's Cross Asset Macro business in Europe and Americas and beyond.
- Analyse and quantify multi-asset currency, interest rate, and commodity exposures sourced from clients’ balance sheets, cash flows, and investment profiles to construct tailored hedging and risk management strategies.
- Implement portfolio optimisation techniques using Value at Risk (VaR) methodologies and cost-risk trade-offs aligned with client risk tolerance and strategic objectives.
- Develop and enhance AI-driven analytical tools to backtest product performance and expand the bank’s product suite through advanced analytics, ensuring continuous innovation in client service offerings.
- Lead multicurrency debt portfolio optimisation projects, delivering sustainable financial strategies that improve capital efficiency.
- Deliver high-quality presentations that translate complex analytical insights into actionable business strategies.
Qualifications
- Strong technical foundation through a degree in Financial Engineering, Financial Mathematics, Quantitative Finance, or related disciplines.
- Proficiency in Python programming, including coding and development for financial analytics and modelling.
- In-depth understanding of derivatives pricing and markets, with specific knowledge of FX, Interest Rates, and Commodities.
- Advanced skills in balance sheet and data analysis, utilising Excel and statistical tools to extract meaningful insights.
- A blend of technical and business qualifications, such as CFA, FRM, or equivalent certifications, demonstrating well-rounded expertise.
- Experience with Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications in financial analytics is advantageous, supporting innovation in product development.
- Prior experience reviewing and analysing corporate balance sheets would be a distinct asset.
