Job Summary

The Assistant Relationship Manager (ARM) partners with the Global Account Manager (GAM) to manage client relationships, originate new business and deliver client revenues and profitability.

Main Responsibilities

  • Act as a secondary point of contact for client relationships internally and externally, working in conjunction with the Global Account Manager to provide services to clients
  • Build personal relationship with clients, establishing contacts at all levels within the client organisation to ensure seamless and consistent coverage and delivery
  • Idea generation, pitching and presenting to internal and external stakeholders
  • Work with the GAM on the overall Client Account Plan and Strategy and ensure all relevant client team members/internal stakeholders have been appropriately engaged by the Banker with respect to the planning and communication of the relevant approved strategy for each client
  • Ensure consistency of coverage, engagement and relationship objectives across the Standard Chartered Network
  • Work with the product partners to maximize cross-sell and returns on risk weighted assets
  • Proactive assistance to the GAM with transactional support on new business origination activities i.e. client research, pitch books, industry leads etc; including coordination with network and product.
  • Support GAM on sales discipline requirements i.e. Account Planning process; pipeline maintenance; client call reports; preparation and presentation of deal approval submissions.
  • Coordinate with Product Sales and network and assist the GAM with deal returns calculations and pricing analysis
  • Client meeting preparation including preparing briefing notes, coordinating internal discussions and other preparation for client meetings in partnership with the Banker
  • Complete bespoke client analysis as required, including competitor analysis reflecting SCB’s value proposition vs peers to identify new business opportunities
  • Provide support on new business transactions i.e. deal execution support, document negotiation, coordination with Product Sales and Client Management team on documentation matters and deal drawdown, coordination with Product Sales and network on fee booking and revenue recognition 
  • Proactive management of portfolio including client and product partner engagement to ensure limit utilization and ensure the accuracy of revenue/returns for the portfolio and at client level

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Banking, Economics, Finance or Accounting preferred.
  • Previous experience in Banking.
  • Risk & AML certified as stipulated by Bank policy 
  • Languages: Business English
  • Credit training
