Job Summary

The role holder will be responsible for the commercialization of Cash & Trade product to Institutional clients and to meet revenue growth targets assigned to portfolio and geographies by Line Manager, Regional and Global Heads. They will actively identify client needs across full set of Standard Chartered Bank’s product capabilities, originate new business and grow the franchise by capitalising on the bank competitive attributes (network) and developing new relationships where required.

Person will be also responsible for delivering the bank segment business strategy and development agenda through alignment with senior management, Global Account Managers, Products, and network partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute and manage the strategy for selling solutions across all Transaction Banking (TB) products to a portfolio of Financial Institutions (FI) client segment
  • Manage the Transaction Banking relationship across all TB products for FI client portfolio
  • Manage and lead Request for Proposal process for client base. Ensure optimal solution developed and presented to customer by working in collaboration with sales, product management and operations to deliver the desired outcome to clients. 
  • Ensure smooth deal implementation and adherence to high levels of service quality.
  • Provide feedback to Product Management on customer needs, trends, and market intelligence, and to provide direction on proposed project programme initiatives to central product management teams. 
  • Lead regular pricing reviews, including impact of waivers or non-standard pricing and implement appropriate local pricing at a product level.
  • Monitor client onboarding, GICs and other FCC related work.
  • Facilitate and promote regular services reviews by TB SM to selective clients for validation of service levels. Leverage on clients’ feedback to improve product capabilities and operational services. 
  • Ensure the business meets its obligation vis-à-vis prevention of Money Laundering under group policy and standards and under the local laws and regulations.
  • Keep abreast of customers’ needs, trends, and product/market intelligence for new product developments/ enhancements, strengthening SCB’s competitive position in this field.
  • Help in Market events organization aimed to share best practices standards and raise SCB visibility.
  • Work in partnership with LM, FI Coverage team for alignment & delivery of revenue and activity targets for FI segments based on client account planning and actively engage with client base to ensure implementation and delivery of client relationship TB strategies. 
  • Maintain ongoing contact with customer base to ensure targeted level of return on Trade Finance.
  • Manage transfer of best practices between markets to leverage Transaction Banking capabilities with the client portfolio.
  • Ensure financial objectives are met at client and portfolio level.
  • Monitor revenue and be responsible for portfolio sales growth plan implementation and execution for directly covered relationships. 
  • Responsible for maintaining sustainable growth of revenue in line with the Bank growth strategy for short, medium and longer terms. 
  • Responsible for Cash and Trade business (revenue & volumes) monitoring based on growth targets and sales account plan for client portfolio and geography.
  • Drive product utilisation levels by monitoring transaction history.
  • Drive trade utilisation (Assets & Contingents) levels by promoting and leveraging footprint capabilities.
  • Manage other businesses under FI segment if required and assigned by the Line Manager.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Banking, Economics and Finance preferred.
  • Excellent command of English (both written and verbal)
  • Relevant Transaction Banking sales experience in the international/regional environment with a good understanding of the market competitive landscape.  
  • Experience in handling cross border payments for financial institutions (FI)
  • Knowledge in the payment environment, infrastructure, and emerging trends in the payment space particularly in cross border payments.
  • Knowledge in Trade Financing business domestic/cross border and knowledge on relevant Trade instruments, as well as ICC applicable rules.
  • Understanding of FX products for cross-border payments business.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, proven track record to work in a collaborative cross-border team environment with multi-cultural stakeholders. 
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
