Director, Commodities Product Management
Band 5
As a product manager and owner, you and your team will have ownership of our Commodities product suite. This is a high-impact, strategic role responsible for defining the product vision, driving commercial growth, and managing the full lifecycle of our offerings. Be the central point of ownership and responsible for developing the multi-year strategy, coordinating investment budgets, and executing a robust roadmap in partnership with global technology, sales, trading and control function teams. As the key change agent for this business, navigate the complexities of high-speed electronic markets while upholding the highest standards of regulatory compliance and responsible sourcing, ensuring our products are not only profitable but also maintain the highest level of market integrity.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy
• Execute the multi-year product strategy and roadmap for the Commodities product suite, aligning with the bank's overarching goals.
• Develop and articulate compelling business cases for new product initiatives, enhancements, and investments.
• Manage the entire product lifecycle from ideation, definition, and development to launch, adoption, and end-of-life activities, ensuring a seamless customer experience from onboarding to execution and reporting.
• Own the IT strategic improvement process with collaboration with global technology team.
Business
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure a coherent and comprehensive multi-year strategy for the Commodities product suite.
• Lead the bottom-up budgeting process for the product area. This involves collaborating with technology, operations, sales, trading and other stakeholders to perform detailed cost analysis, project future needs based on the strategic roadmap, and build a comprehensive, justifiable budget proposal for senior management approval.
• Work with your team to coordinate and justify investment budget allocation for strategic initiatives, aligning capital expenditure with the product roadmap and demonstrating clear ROI through robust financial modelling.
• Develop, implement, and manage the product pricing strategy to ensure market competitiveness and sustained profitability, understanding the impact of pricing decisions on client adoption, trading volumes, and related bank products.
• Continuously track, analyse, and report on KPIs and product health metrics, such as trading volume, revenue per trade, cost-income ratio, client acquisition, market share, and product adoption rates, to inform strategic decision-making.
Processes
• Act within the agile development framework, partnering with global technology teams to translate the product roadmap into a prioritized and deliverable backlog of features, epics, and user stories.
• Define and document the full product scope, from client onboarding and payment execution to risk management and reporting, meticulously identifying gaps and opportunities in functionality, operations, and user experience.
• Own and manage the prioritization of the development backlog based on commercial objectives, client value, regulatory requirements, and strategic importance, ensuring that finite technology resources are consistently focused on the highest-impact work.
• Ensure effective discovery through rapid iteration and prototyping wherever possible, challenging outdated or inefficient ways of working.
• Drive the agenda for product innovation, championing the electronification of trading workflows, the development of sophisticated digital client platforms, and the strategic exploration of new technologies

• Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role
• Ensure the discharge of any personal statutory, legal or regulatory responsibilities that apply by reason of any registration or regulatory approval held, or by occupying this role
