Job Summary

Currently to one of our teams we are looking for Director, Internal Financial Control Framework.

The purpose of the role is to head the Financial Reporting Controls Framework Governance and Lifecycle management team. This team is responsible for overseeing activities that constitutes the annual FRCF lifecycle. The team also interacts with the business partnering and testing teams to receive various inputs for required governance reporting and provides training on FRCF control concepts to stakeholders across the bank. The team also owns strategic tooling solutions for storing FRCF controls and participates in cross bank forums focused on controls optimisation and tooling initiatives

Key Responsibilities

The team lead will oversee the following activities performed by the team:
•    Scoping and materiality assessment – Performing annual scoping and materiality assessment and presenting these results along with changes identified with senior stakeholders within the business
•    Training and guidance – Maintaining and updating centralised training materials enshrining FRCF control concepts covering business and technology controls. Delivery of training to stakeholders across the business (CIB, WRB, Functions, Finance). Upskilling the wider FRCF team so they are familiar with control concepts and governance requirements. As a subject matter expert, provide guidance on control issues to all business units 
•    Issue and deficiency management – Performing risk assessment of risk events logged during the year and deficiencies identified as part of design and operating effectiveness testing and understanding if this has a material impact on the overall effectiveness of the control framework
•    Remediation of failed controls and design gaps – Work with FRCF Business Partnering teams to ensure remediation plans are in place and perform review and challenge activities to assess whether plans mitigate business risks identified
•    Management attestation – Setting up and configuring workflows within strategic tooling for the execution of the annual management attestation process. Tracking progress and reporting the outcome including any deficiencies identified as part of the annual attestation process.
•    Update of policy documentation – Perform annual review and update of the FRCF policy and publish updated version on the bank’s governance portal 
•    Review and assess results from the FRCF Quality Assurance (QA) lead and input this to governance papers as deemed necessary
•    Governance - Production of Governance papers with supporting dashboards and metrics on all FRCF Lifecycle activities that will be presented to senior management, governance forums and the Bank’s Risk and Board committees
•    Standardised MI - Standardise all supporting working management information and produce this centrally for use by other FRCF team leads

•    Proven ability to perform under pressure and stress and to adjust plans to meet changing needs and requirements.

Qualifications

•    Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CIA, CISA) is preferred.
•    Minimum of 5 years of experience in risk management, internal controls, auditing, or a related field, with a focus on SOX compliance.
•    In-depth knowledge of SOX regulations, internal control frameworks (e.g., COSO), and financial reporting processes.
•    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks effectively.
•    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
•    Proficiency in using risk management and audit software tools.
•    High level of integrity, ethical standards, and attention to detail.
Preferred Skills:
•    Experience in a accounting firm or PLC/financial services company.
•    Familiarity with enterprise risk management (ERM) frameworks.
•    Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
•    Strong leadership skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
