Job Summary

Oil & Gas and Chemicals M&A Advisory’s London team that covers Africa, Europe and the Americas, are looking to hire a Director (Vice President), covering the oil and gas sector across the value chain as well as the chemicals industry. The role offers full exposure to the investment banking advisory business and a successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain significant cross-border M&A and sector expertise. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the origination of M&A mandates by leveraging on existing client relationships, contributing to idea generation and producing high quality pitches to the bank's clients
  • Work in close coordination with senior bankers, client coverage and other region M&A teams in the origination of M&A transactions
  • Work closely with the deal team leader and manage the day-to-day execution of M&A transactions
  • Lead in the preparation of high quality marketing and other materials such as Information Memorandums, Fairness Opinions and Board Papers
  • Develop and control the overall process and timeline for the transactions in coordination with the clients and other advisers such as legal, accounting, tax, etc. to provide overall project management
  • Advise the Client on valuation, transaction strategy and participate in negotiation of definitive documents, as required
  • Review public filings, research reports, business plans and other available financial information of companies, to produce operating and financial models
  • Lead the development of sophisticated financial / valuation models to evaluate investments, reorganizations, disposals, acquisitions and other corporate finance transactions
  • Communicate with senior management of the Client and ensure that the services and quality of work meet the highest industry standards
  • Efficiently manage several projects at once and work effectively as an individual and as a leader of a deal team
  • Effectively manage Analysts and Associates, delegating and reviewing their work as well as creating a culture of collaboration in the team
  • Lead by example and build the appropriate culture and values
  • Ensure compliance with SCB internal policies and procedures

Qualifications

•    Business/Banking/Engineering qualification with relevant Industry experience or Degree or post graduate qualified from a top-tier school
•    Strong analytical and communication skills
•    Prior experience in a top-tier investment bank with a track record in M&A, Structured Debt, Project Finance, Capital Markets, Financial Markets or Structured Trade transactions is essential
•    Solid financial evaluation and excel abilities
•    Ability to excel in both team and self-directed settings
•    Strong work ethics, detail orientation and a passion for excellence
•    Ability to deliver under time pressure
•    Track record of working as a team member
