As a Director within the Group Strategy team, you will play a critical role in shaping and delivering the strategic agenda of the Bank and enabling the culture of innovation. Acting as a project manager and thought partner to senior leadership, you will lead strategy projects from inception through execution, manage and develop junior team members, and contribute to building the overall capability and culture of the strategy function.
The role offers exposure to the most senior stakeholders across the Group, including the Board and Executive Committee, and covers a wide range of strategic topics across businesses, geographies, and functions.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy
- Contribute to the definition and evolution of the Group’s strategic agenda, working closely with the Board, Executive Committee, and senior management
- Analyse key industry, market, and competitive trends and translate insights into clear strategic implications
- Support leadership teams across businesses, geographies, and functions in defining strategic priorities and implementation plans
- Develop high-quality strategic materials, including presentations and recommendations for senior stakeholders
Innovation
- Help drive culture of innovation by working on specific projects / actions with stakeholders in the bank as a project manager
- Identify and implement innovation practices externally and bring them back into the group
- Identify innovative ways of working within the Group Strategy team
Project Leadership & Delivery
- Lead and manage strategy projects on a day-to-day basis, ensuring high-quality delivery to time and stakeholder expectations
- Structure workplans, manage project milestones, and steer problem-solving efforts
- Typically manage project teams of 1–2 Associates and/or Associate Directors
- Collaborate closely with Managing Directors and subject-matter experts to bring the right expertise to each engagement
Stakeholder Management
- Engage confidently with senior stakeholders across the Bank, including business heads and functional leaders
- Build trusted relationships and act as a credible thought partner on strategic topics
- Navigate complex, multi-cultural, and matrixed environments effectively
Skills and Experience
- Strong background in financial services, with experience in:

- Top-tier strategy or management consulting and/or
- Strategy, corporate development, or transformation roles within leading banks
- Hands-on experience in enabling innovation within a large organisation
- Proven experience leading complex, project-based workstreams
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and structured thinking skills
- Innovative thinking or possesses a strong understanding of innovation.
- External mindset with a well-established network within the innovation ecosystem.
Preferred
- Emerging markets experience or exposure, particularly in Asia, Africa, or the Middle East
- Experience operating in large, global, and multi-cultural organisations
- Exposure to Board-level or executive-level strategy discussions
