Job Summary
Lead and drive the Financial Sponsors Coverage business across Europe, accountable for regional strategy execution, client relationship management, revenue growth, and risk management in line with the Group and global Financial Sponsors strategy. The role partners closely with the Global Head of Financial Sponsors Coverage, Global Product teams, and regional Coverage leadership to deliver sustainable growth, deepen client relationships, and ensure disciplined risk, conduct, and governance standards across the Europe portfolio.
Responsibilities
• Own and execute the Financial Sponsors Coverage strategy and Account Plans across Europe, aligned to the global Financial Sponsors and CIB strategic direction.
• Contribute to the development of global Financial Sponsors strategy by providing regional market insight, client intelligence, and performance feedback.
• Identify priority clients, sectors, and opportunities within Europe, balancing growth ambitions with risk, capital, and return considerations.
• Partner with regional and global stakeholders to ensure consistent client value propositions and coordinated coverage across products and geographies.
• Accountable for delivering Financial Sponsors Coverage revenue, cost, and balance sheet objectives across Europe, in line with agreed targets.
• Drive origination, cross sell, and wallet share growth by partnering with Global Product teams and regional Coverage colleagues.
• Monitor financial performance against targets, ensuring disciplined management of RWA, returns, and long term economic revenue objectives.
• Build and maintain senior level client relationships with key Financial Sponsor clients in Europe, managing conflicts transparently and fairly.
• Act as a senior escalation point for significant client issues within the region, ensuring timely resolution and appropriate root cause analysis.
• Ensure Financial Sponsors Coverage activities across Europe operate within the Group’s process universe, policies, and control standards.
• Drive consistent and efficient front to back processes across the region, working with Credit, Risk, Operations, Legal & Compliance, Technology, and Product partners.
• Support the implementation of global initiatives, systems, and infrastructure changes within Europe, providing regional input where appropriate.
• Ensure the business is operated in a safe, controlled, and scalable manner, fit for sustainable growth.
• Provide strong leadership to the Financial Sponsors Coverage team across Europe, setting clear direction and role modeling the Bank’s values and conduct standards.
