Job Description
Are you a tax expert with a passion for compliance and risk management? We are looking for an Employment Tax Manager to lead and govern employment tax risk across the UK & Europe. In this role, you will ensure compliance, design best-in-class tax processes, and provide expert guidance to business functions. You’ll work closely with stakeholders to develop and implement global tax strategies while staying ahead of evolving regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Employment Tax Compliance: Act as a subject matter expert, ensuring compliance across UK & Europe.
- Advisory & Training: Provide guidance to payroll and other process owners on tax regulations and best practices.
- Process & Risk Management: Design, implement, and enhance employment tax processes while identifying and mitigating potential risks.
- Regulatory & Reporting Oversight:
- Manage UK and German tax compliance reporting.
- Oversee preparation of PAYE Settlement Agreement (PSA) and P11Ds.
- Review expenses and ensure accurate share returns (Forms 42 & 34).
- Handle Short-Term Business Visitors (Appendix 6 & 4) reporting.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with regional and global tax teams to align strategies and maintain governance standards.
- Audit & Continuous Improvement: Ensure audit trails are maintained and proactively address policy/process weaknesses.
Skills and Qualifications
Skills
- Expertise in UK Employment Taxes, including annual compliance and ad hoc queries.
- Experience with international tax issues, including expatriate taxes and social security.
- Strong analytical skills and highly numerate, with advanced Excel proficiency.
- Proven ability to manage complex European tax regulations.
- Ability to collaborate across teams, ensuring seamless tax risk management.
Qualifications
- Membership in ATT or CTA (mandatory).
- Experience managing employment tax processes across UK & Europe.
- Strong understanding of regulatory compliance and tax reporting requirements.
